Hi all,

So this was just a general getting it off my chest session but Im also going to put a link at the bottom to the justgiving website should you feel the need to sponsor us.

On Sunday the 10th of September myself and some friends are doing the yorkshire three peaks.

We are doing this to raise awareness for cancer research but particulary skin cancer as one of my sisters best friends (aged 21) was diagnosed earlier in the year and this was her idea.

Since deciding to do this walk my grandad has also been diagnosed with skin cancer. After loosing my Grandma to cancer last year this has broken my heart.

Despite the fact I am very unfit I am determained to complete it. Im going to take the time while walking to remember my Grandma and to think of all the people that are suffering.

Cancer ruined my family and took away my Grandma, I'm not going to let it do the same to my Grandad.

I miss my Grandma so much and think about her every day. Cancer is an evil evil thing!!

Good luck hun,

I lost my nan to cancer and my dad is currently fighting his own battle....although he is on the upside now.
The thought of people you have lost or people who are suffering will get you through. I have completed the marathon moonwalk 3 times, each time I thought I couldn't do it, and each time I felt my Nan with me when I needed that extra push.
It will be such an acheivement and i'm sure your Grandma will be with you :)

Great cause and good luck!

I envy you doing such a challenge as I'd love to get a few like-minded folk together to do the 3 peaks as I love hiking/rambling etc.

Sadly, there will not be a single reader of this thread who hasn't been in some way touched by this evil disease. I've lost several friends in the past year, and my own beloved mother was also a victim almost 8 years ago now.

Until 2 years ago i didnt know anyone who had suffered with it. Since then one of my grandads and my uncle fought and won, my grandma lost and my other grandad is fighting. It really is evil x
