I bought myself a necklace from links of London when I lost my first stone (last week) and a charm for it which sits as a pendant, i'm buying a new charm for each stone that I lose. Jewellery will fit me no matter what size I am! I am working towards a holiday too - a hen weekend in Portugal at...
I think everyone must be different and you should listen to your own body, I go to the gym 5 times a week, sometimes do gentle classes like yoga, sometimes swim and sometimes do circuit training which is quite intense. The only thing I struggle with is sit ups on the stability ball which makes...
Hi halebob I got some in boots but I had to ask the pharmacist - they don't have them on the shop floor, most pharmacies should have them but they will be 'behind the counter' so to speak.
Thanks!
Well I've woken up to a dull rainy day but seem to have got past my negativity yesterday. I feel positive again, I know this is the right thing to do and I don't need to eat! At least not for the next few months anyway :-)
I'm going to the allotments today, which is the last thing I...
Really struggling this afternoon, work is dragging and I feel weary for the first time. I need to stay positive as my mind is wandering to food, I have to just block it out.
I'll make sure I leave at 5pm and go straight home and curl up on the sofa. Going swimming with a friend at 7 so that...
I'd better get off to bed then! Just been to the gym and unwinding now. Need to have another shake before bed. It's funny how your tastes change over the course of the week, I am loving the strawberry shakes, peanut bars and curry soups at the moment.
Magiclove is right, it's a learning process, just remember how you felt afterwards, regretting it, and muster up that feeling when you are tempted to eat again, one slip up is not the end of the world. Keep going you are doing well x x
Thanks everyone! The weight loss is great but I feel weird about it - all I have done is be abstinent for 7 days, my body has reaponded by dropping 12lbs on the scales, it may be in time that i only lose 3 or 3 lbs in a week but i have to remember that I have achieved the same thing - abstinence...
When I did LL before I lost 2 stone in 4 weeks. I didn't stick with it for any longer than that so can't say what a more longer term average would be. This time around I have lost 12lbs in my first week alone, I started off at 17 stone to give you some idea of the impact of starting weight.
Well today was day 7 and if I look back on the week I can honestly say it's been a good week. No food and yet it's been one of my happiest weeks in a long time. I seem to have more energy, I certainly have more time and so I am getting lots of jobs done that I wouldn't normally do. My partner is...
Sounds like things are on the up now motherof2? It's only 2 days until your weigh in and that should spur you on. Have you been weighing at home or are you waiting until your group?
Sarah x
Hi hannah I have just read your weight loss diary from start to finish and i just wanted to say what an inspiration you are. You look beautiful, you must be so happy, I am going to catch up on your maintenance diary over the next day or so but just wanted to say well done x Sarah
I don't know what's going on I feel like I have even more energy than usual. I hoovered and cleaned the car this afternoon also. I am also feeling giddy (in the happy sense) I think it's seeing the scales moving in the right direction, I'm excited about the future and not being overweight...
Good advice mags, that's a good point about the muscle wasting. It's only for 3 or 4 months (hopefully) so I'll take it easy, it's so exciting to think what my body will be capable of when it's not carrying around a spare 6 stone :-)
Brilliant thanks pinkie! I think I will be ok with the weights, it's the same calorie burn as spending 45 minutes cooking lol! Good activity replacement :-) great link x
I agree the grumpiness will pass once you get into ketosis, as will any hunger pangs you may be having. Could you keep yourself busy and out of the way when your husband is eating? At least in the short term? I am on day 6 now and feel great, full of energy and bizarrely happy. Stick with it and...
Ok thanks for the advice :-( I am worried about losing my muscle tone, could I go in the gym and just do core work and resistance training but skip the cardio? Maybe go to pilates and body balance classes? I don't think they will burn too many calories will they? X
Thanks!
Have just been to my second gym session this weekend and I can honestly say I was able to do my full regular workout and I even followed it up with 50 lengths of the pool. One good thing about not cooking or eating is I have lots of extra time, and the pool cleared out at half twelve...
Right I'm going to the gym, I haven't been since I started LL. I really hope I have enough energy to do my usual workout but we shall see... I have a one on one with a personal trainer so I hope he doesn't push me too hard.
Oh great, thanks for the reply mags, some ladies in my group were saying they are trying to get to BMI of 29 so they can go on LLL, I thought it was compulsary but if I can stay on LLT I will, i'll see how I feel nearer the time but it's good to know I have options.
Some gyms do small group sessions, I do training with 3 other ladies it brings the cost down and we all just work to our own level, see if you gym does something similar?
Tesco healthy living Cumberland sausages are good as are M&S low fat sausages, both have the same syn value as ww sausages. Have you tried quorn sausages?
Hi
Can somebody help, I am on week 1 of LLT and my BMI is 36, I have quite a way to go yet but do I have to switch to LLL when my BMI reaches 29 or can I stay on LLT until I get to goal? How much slower is the weight loss on LLL?
Thanks!
Sarah
Well done both of you, I am also on week 1 and so far I haven't wanted to eat. I think it helps that my boyfriend was on holiday this week so I've had a food free house, he's home today so that will be a test, I may have to go out of the room initially when he is eating.
Thanks spanglymum! If you think of it that way, that they are going to taste horrible, they are actually quite nice, as long as you brush your teeth afterwards. I have let go of the notion of being satieted by food for now, and that includes the foodpacks. For me I just want to get all the...
I have to say I really like the curry soup. I like to have something savoury when I get in from work and I would say this is the best of a bad bunch!
I think my expectations are low, I expect th foodpacks to taste horrible, like medicine, so if they tast even a little bit nice I am happy!
Well so far so good, I am on day 5 now. I had my pop in on Thursday and I had lost 7lbs!!! I couldn't believe it.
I met with my counsellor and she didn't have a group to put me into straight away but said I could start anyway and just have pop ins once a week. I came away feeling a bit...
What pinkie said! Pinkie your comments are so motivating have you thought about going into motivational speaking??
I agree, wouldn't it be fab to come back from holiday lighter?
Thanks for the message Joy! You will have the 6lb off in no time I am sure. I agree it's a good thing I am starting soon, I am trying not to go crazy this weekend though as getting through the first few days when I am at work is going to be tough I want to speed the process up by cutting out...
Hello everyone
I'm new to all of this and am starting lighter life total on Monday.
It's all happened very quickly, I contacted my LLC on Friday and she happened to have a group starting on Monday so no time to think about it I am just launching straight into it.
I have tried lighter life...
Thanks Carrie and Mags for your messages! I'm very impressed with the speedy response, great to know there are people out there in the same boat. I like the idea of a mixture of stages all together, especially the maintainers as they have been through it and made it to the other side! I need...
Sounds great, thanks for the reply, I did 4 weeks last time then crumbled, psychologically 13 weeks just seemed like an eternity but breaking into 4 week chunks must be better, even if you do end up doing 12 weeks or more!
Hi there
I am new to this forum. I did LL about 5 years ago but didn't complete the 13 weeks.
I am thinking of starting again but wondered if the plan is run the same way so you do 13 weeks of abstinence with the same group?
If anyone could help i'd appreciate it
Thanks
Sarah
