There were some people doing that in my class this week. So annoying! It's not school - we're here because we WANT to be here after all!

Welcome to Newbies 2013 - Say Hello here!!!

Hi there, I'm not new to the site but I am new to Slimming World. I was on Atkins before but, although I lost weight, I lacked the willpower to keep to the restrictions! I noticed that there were loads of SW people on here, and then fortuitously met a bloke in a pub who had lost 8st in a year on...

    SQUEEzing into a smaller me!

I've sort-of decided to slack a little bit. What I mean is for most days of the week, I'm going to stick with the plan. Other days...grapes! If I get too frustrated with what I'm eating I'll end up giving up, so, this is my lesser of two evils plan. I also need to start looking at using herbs...

    SQUEEzing into a smaller me!

Really craving carbs last night and today. Had another lapse. *sigh* I'm getting bored of induction, I have to say. More specifically, I'm getting thoroughly sick of meat. Today I had (ignoring lapse-stuff): Chicken with ham & cheese sauce with a little bit of asparagus.

    SQUEEzing into a smaller me!

Feeling a lot better today, thanks! Had a bit of a slip-up involving a piece of apple pie & custard last night (couldn't sleep). However it doesn't seem to have affected anything too badly. I've lost one pound this week. Which is a bit irritating, but hopefully it'll be a bit better next week...

    SQUEEzing into a smaller me!

Still feeling a bit bleurgh, unfortunately. I had steak with carrot & parsnip mash (which came to about 8g, according to the packet) and mange tout. Couldn't be bothered with any other meals. I'm still hoping some weight will magically drop off before tomorrow :( Otherwise I'll need to figure...

    SQUEEzing into a smaller me!

Well today I've been feeling rather depressed. Possibly because I sneaked a peep at my weight and I haven't lost anything so far (weigh-in wednesday). Also just generally feeling meh. I've been sleeping on and off throughout the day. I had some olives around lunchtime. For dinner I made fried...

    Shrinking shoe size???

Thanks, caroline, I was thinking how on earth could your feet shrink! I have a friend who says she went down three shoe sizes when she lost weight, actually. I always thought she'd gone a bit weird! I doubt mine will change though, I've been an 8 since being a teenager (when I was a normal weight)

    Dress Sizes

My mum always said a stone = a dress size. I've not had the opportunity to try that out yet, but I'd imagine it would be a bit more than a stone for the larger dress sizes.

    Bad Breath

I'm doing Atkins, but no one has noticed a bad smell around! My mouth generally tastes like something has died in there - a combination of smoking and a medication-induced bad taste. I've had worse. You get used to anything in time!

before diet, what was your favourate meal

When I was at my worst, eating-wise, I would have 2x Whoppers with large fries followed up by a sponge cake. For dinner! More recently I've been a tiny bit better, in that I would eat more or less normally during the day, and then have two packets of biscuits at night. That is quite disgusting...

Sounds lovely Katie! I'll have to try that sometime! Today I had "sandwiches" of milano salami & lettuce, then dinner of prawns and those white ring things with thousand island dressing (which wasn't too bad in terms of carbs & lettuce. I'm off shopping tomorrow, trying to decide what to have...

Flying visit today, as a computer game is calling me! Brunch: Ham and cheese "sandwiches" (using lettuce) Dinner: Mustard pork chop with turnip Actually dinner was a disaster! Well, the two tablets I took yesterday did nothing, but the dose I took today did! *Very relieved here* Today I had scrambled eggs & bacon (the last two days I have managed to burn the bacon, and it doesn't taste like it used to. Soup recipes for induction?

I made cauliflower soup recently - fried some bacon & spring onion in a pan, added cauliflower and water.
