20 Pounds to lose.. whilst going abroad!

    Hi there,
    I'm planning on starting a weight loss regime tomorrow after sitting around eating my body weight in bad foods for the past few weeks. This has to stop. I'm planning on basing my diet on protein, fruit and vegetables. I guess you could classify it as a high protein diet.. but not the same as the Atkins in that i wont be using lots of oils/fats and I'm not going to limit the amount of carb intake on vegetables.

    The reason i've gone for high protein is that I think I have a bit of a 'sugar addiction' and get regular cravings, and that's what i gain weight on. Hoping high protein will kick this addiction. I know it's going to be rough for a while, in terms of withdrawal though..

    The other problem in my weight loss journey is that I am moving to Argentina in a couple of weeks to learn Spanish for two months. It shouldn't be too much of a problem though if I just stay focused while I'm there. Really hoping I stick to this.

    you certainly sound organized, even amid the excitement of going abroad, good for you!
    How much weight do you want to lose? i want to to get rid of 10 stone and i have found minimins absolutely wonderful for support, looking forward to seeing you succeed, keep posting:)

    Ideally I'd love to lose 20 pounds, as that's about how much i've gained.. after..well.. 'eating my feelings' so-to-speak. Just want to kick the habit before it spirals out of control and get back to where I was. Hope it's going well for you so far? x

    Good luck R8ch! Going to Argentina for 2 months to learn Spanish sounds absolutely amazing! I'm trying to lose about 3 stone and I'm going to Europe for 3 weeks at the beginning of August but really want to stay completely on track while I'm there. I want to keep losing the weight as I want this horrible fat gone ASAP. So I know how you feel! My trip will be more of a backpacking one, going all round Europe, staying in hostels etc so hopefully will lose weight with all the walking and carrying my epic rucksack!
