30 Day Shred :)

Ooh yes take photos as the shred hasn't really boosted my weight loss but has change my figure tonnes. I took befores in my undies and hid them away. Can't wait for the next 14 days to be over so I can see the results!

I'm opposite to you re. Abs... They only started to hurt when I'd got the technique properly by watching a few YouTube vids. My first day was so easy because I was doing it all wrong ha I had to start again!

I took my pics this morning- not a pretty sight of my flabby belly- but that's I'd my problem area- will look forward to that shrinking!
Did L1 D4 this morning and abs killed me- maybe bye unique has improved? REALLY struggled with girlie press ups- Maine because it was only 11 hrs since lady workout? And lunges are still awful! Will do some press ups on the wall tonight to try and build strength there!

Still struggling with the girlie push ups but did up my weights from 0.6kg to 1.1kg- a lot harder- but just about doable! And it was necessary as arms didn't feel worked after day 4!
Have also noticed silly iPhone is autocorrecting a lot of my posts- will proof read more so that they make more sense!!

I bought it months ago, took the plastic off watched the first 5 minutes on the sofa and thought crikey that will end me, lol.

I just finished day 7 at level 2 and feel great. Do it! You can stop for a breather whenever you need it and can do the modified versions. Any activity is a bonus! And congratulations on your weight loss. :)
 
L1 D6 done this morning!

Used the heavier weights and ALMOST had to stop, but it ended just in time! Still rubbish at girlie press ups- but battling on and doing a few wall press ups in the evening to try and build upper body strength! Don't think I'll ever be able to do actual push ups!!

Weighed in today and lost 2 lbs with a week of diet-ish behaviour and 5 days of shred! Pretty good as I ate naughty things yesterday! But... I have eaten about 10 biscuits and a McDonald's today- oops!!
Still- I'm out tomorrow and will drive to avoid alcohol calories as am also out on Wednesday which will definitely be an evening of alcohol calories!!

Also, my resting heart rate on day 1 was 80. Have just re done it....62!! Wow!! :)
 
L1 D7. Complete! I didn't really believe Jillian when she says people on day 5/6/7 will notice an improvement in their endurance! But suddenly on day 7 I do AND I did 10 girlie press ups in a row the first set and 6 the second! After all my moaning yesterday! Well I'm happy with that! Hopefully will be able to do as many and anita and Natalie by day 10! I'm also going as lo as them on lunges now and as high as them on kicks! And I managed to get much higher of the floor for jump rope! Hope this progress continues tomorrow and isn't just a one off.
Will weigh in again tomorrow as I'll have done a week of shred- so trying to be very good today! Am off to buy a low calories lunch - a spot of shopping- going to play tennis (newbie) ten have a party this evening- i WILL be good!!

So.. I weighted in on the 11th and was down from 9st 10lb to 9st 6lb 6oz woop woop!

But I've been out for lunch and dinner, including wine since then- ooops! Was supposed to be very good as off to V festival this weekend!


I'm pretty sure I'll be back where I started or heavier after all the V festival naughtiness!Not sure how I'll be able to eat healthily- and the alcohol will be a calorie binge!!

But- i must have made some muscle- hopefully that'll burn some calories for me! Losing another 6lb by the end of the month seems unlikely now! but if i can get 4 off- that would be amazing!


I've just done day 10 of 30Ds-can't believe I got to 10 days! Woop woop! But I only managed half the work out yesterday as I wasn't keeping an eye on the time and had to go out!

Don't want to cheat- so might do the other half tonight! Although- not sure how that will reflect on L2 D1 tomorrow- maybe i should do the other half this afternoon instead?

eeeekk! Very nervous about level 3 tomorrow!

Did you know you are supposed to take rest days? So don't worry about missing one here or there. I took a couple and felt much stronger afterwards as my shoulder was burning but had time to heal. I think it is supposed to be 2 days shred, 1 day cardio, 2 days shred, but I have just taken the odd day when circumstances meant I couldn;t exercise comfortably.

So you're on day one of level 2 today? Well done on getting that far!

I had no idea I was supposed to do a day of cardio every 3 days instead- ooops! Perhaps if i'd watched the recommendations i'd have noticed that! How much cardio are you supposed to do? I have done none- just the DVd! Lucky I found out now!!
Might start couch to 5k then?

So how are you finding level 2?

Ah that's a typo- sorry! I just finished day ten. Having a rest day tmra then on to level 3.

I loved level 1 and found level 2 tricky as I hate the weird cardio (can't get heart rate up with oblique twists or high kicks) but I loved the AB work.

I am not sure what the rec is but i expect anything would be great as long as it's not strength work... a walk, a swim, etc. I run as well as shred. I ran 7km today. I stated couch to 5k last year and it was a great introduction. There are some great podcasts with different music. I used Robert ullrey's.

Woo we are awesome exercise queens! let me know how you get on x x
 
Hi all, how is everyone doing.

Well done puppetwitch- i'll add in some cardio when i go home on thursday and friday prior to the festival!

I've just done L2 D1- killer! But... Just when I think I can't keep going- it changes to something else. Not loving the cardio in this one either puppetwitch! I'm doing all the easier moves, but had to put the weights down on arm raises as I couldn't do it with the weights the second time round!
I don't think I'm using my abs though? So might do some bicycle crunches this evening?

I'm sticking to the exercise routine really well, but my diet is a nightmare- craving lots of naughty things- not sure if its because of the exercise? I just cannot behave myself! Maybe in the back of my mind I'm thinking the exercise will make up for it! But I know it won't and I won't lose any weight of I keep making the wrong choices! I want to be toned- but don't want it under a layer of fat!

I've done some reading and I know the first 2/3 weeks of a new exercise regime can make your muscles swell and retain water so you can temporarily become bigger and heavier. I don't want my brain to use this as an excuse if I gain inches/ pounds, when really I know any gain will be as a result of bad food choices!
It's sooooooo hard when I'm staying with the OH though and you want to cook nice meals etc! Grrrrrr! Hard day today!! :(

But will try to focus on the positives...L2 D1!!

Yes have a google for a guardian article about compensatory calories- they can scupper weight loss so we need to watch it! I am just as bad though... Ate 30 syns in teacakes yesterday after my run and shred :)
 
Thanks loads puppetwitch- will have a read of that! Just gave myself a talking too to man up and have just done day one of couch to 10k! I did do it in the OH's lounge but there's not much actual
Running at the beginning is there, so just ran as fast as I could on the spot-
Lol! Def better than nothing!

Love tea cakes! It's hard to stop once you start isn't it!! Lets have a great day today! I'm going to have soup with crackerbreads and then jelly for lunch and then fish and veggies for dinner! I WILL be good today!!!!
