50 shades of grey books

I've read them all and loved them. The rudest thing I have ever read but a cracking good read.

I miss Mr Grey :(

A large amount of people on a website I go on rave about them so will be getting them for my Kindle soon

I have read them, couldn't put them down till I finished them. Absolutely need to read all three. Any negative reviews I have read about them really don't "get" it at all, and generally tend to be from people who trashed them half way through the first one and never bothered to finish them because they weren't sufficiently high-brow, or who rocked up expecting sparkly vampires and were horribly disappointed by the lack of them.

I have never read the twilight books and have no desire to, I just read these on their own merit and without pre-conception, and I thought they were ace. You have to be in a particular frame of mind to particularly enjoy them though. I don't like the term "mommy-porn" that they have been given though, I think that demeans them somewhat and takes away from the fact that there's actually a decently put together highly charged story in there. If it makes that type of fiction more mainstream and encourages other writers to get into the genre no harm done, but I just think its been coined by people who should know better.

Hmm I've heard the mummy porn thing and didn't like it either. Yes, they are rude and very graphic but so so so intriguing and I had no idea how it would end. I won't say anything which would be a spoiler though!

I'd love there to be a film but no sure quite how they could do it!!!!!

I read them and couldn't put them down, film rights have been bought now, heard they're making a trilogy but toning down the obvious. Defo a must read. I plan to read them again when I get the time.;)

True. There's a massive amount of heated Internet debate about who they could possibly cast to play Christian. I don't really go to movies and am not up to date on who's "in" so I have no idea who half the ones they are talking about are, but I will certainly make an effort to go see this if I can. Just probably not with my mother-in-law!!!

I just finished the first and am starting the second today. I was really against reading them at first because everyone was doing but eventually I caved in and I'm so glad that I did.

The bits about her inner goddess get on my nerves though :sigh:
