    Hello there,

So begins my journey, as I keep telling myself this isn't going to take willpower - this is choice power :p

Since leaving Uni (9 years ago ) I have over the years increased in size from 9.5st to a now huge 15.4st (214lb) - I'm 5ft 4"

My wake up call has been a combination of events; I have for years floated at 13st, then in Nov 09 I broke my ankle & carrying around that amount of weight (as I couldn't weight bear) was such hard work and quite frankly embrassing :sigh:

I actually lost weight at first, but then as soon as I was able to get into a kitchen, I seriously started eating. I felt "excused" as everyone kept reassuring me that as soon as I could walk properly I would shift it.....2st later here I am. I started feeling HUGE and then the proof was in the pictures...a friends took some snaps and pasted them on facebook..OMG that was enough for me!!

I have explored various diets and none really worked for me - I am an all or nothing kinda lady, so I researched, asked around and decided Cambridge was the one for me!!

I met my CDC Thursday (18th Feb 2010) and talked through everything and she recommended to start off on step 2 for a week to get use to diet. This morning I started off with a choc mint shake (yum), drank a ton of water, had a butterscotch shake at lunch (not so yum), then this evening I had a portion of haddock with veg and a porridge (cinnamon and apple YUK).

I have felt super tired all day, slightly grumpy, and this afternoon I REALLY struggled to stay focus and not think about pringles (?!?!?)....now I am glad I have got through today...I really want to achieve the weight loss and so this is pushing me on!

I am terrified at how long this may take me, I could handle 3mths but then my summers are always full of social events that would make SS tough...so I want to shift as much as I can before June. I am slightly hindered with my rubbish ankle, it has been 3mths since I broke it and I am still not very mobile (can't walk to far) so I hope this improves along the way making life a tad easier!

Anyway I hope to keep documenting my loss in here and just vent as and when I need to....maybe along the way encourage others :)

you will do it. last time i did CD ss i lost 5 1/2 stone in 5 months. i started around the end of feb 08 and by the summer i was nice and thin then i got pregnant put weight on and i'm back with just under 3 stone to loose.

i'm now on day 6 and lots of my weight has dropped off me already (10lbs).

you'll be surprised that as you go along and the weight goes and you buy thinner clothes in smaller dress sizes how motivated you really become to reach your goal and nothing stops you. i remember going out with hubby and his brother and wife and i drank water that night and not anything else. another time it was a day nursery visit to look at my daughters files and taste testing of the food and some vino but i didn't have anything.

the more you loose the bigger your willpower becomes cause you see the results so fast.

Aww thanks both for the kind words....I will keep my eye on your successes!

Today wasn't bad actually, I was really occupied anyway (moving house) but managed all my shakes etc and didn't spend hours thinking about food lol. I even ran the gauntlet of Tescos and avoid everything tempting and had a clear focus on what I needed! Was slightly niggled around lunchtime but everyone was eating yummy sandwiches, so I just went off and unpacked some more!

I keep telling myself nothing will taste nicer than success!

I know the side effects will pass, but right now I am SO tired & grumpy, but like I say I am moving house and super stressed out so it could be a massive combo!

Yeah day 2 is nailed.....and I am 2 days closer to goal!

Thanks Georgie, your pictures are fantastic - how long did it take you to drop the weight?

Today has been pretty ok again, I'm deffo not feeling hungry, not overly tempted by anything (although cheesy doritos was today's thought of the day) and feel....well I guess contented, I think I submitted pretty quickly to the fact this is it for a while. I also think I hit ketosis fast which does help!

I guess all this makes it easy going for now; I know this isn't forever, I know this is for my own good, I know this is healthy option for me, and I know this is MY CHOICE.....the way I look at it is that for a loooong while I over indulged and enjoyed myself - so here's the payback! Not that I am super suffering lol! I suspect next week when I go on SS I will start throwing hissy fits!

Side effects (if indeed they are) are wearing off a touch, not so tired today, had quite a bit of energy, although still slightly grumpy!! Oh and I am getting niggled by how much time I spending on the loo (excuse the intimacy) all this water is deffo flushing through!

Tomorrow I am embarking on a visit to my local sports centre....I haven't stuck on a swim suit in a while...it's like looking at an over stuffed sausage! However for the sake of improving my limp and aiding the weight loss, getting healthy needs must!

    Xx

Blah I went to my CDC today to get weighed in expecting miracles and only lost 2lb since Friday....don't know why I thought it was more, prob because I feel good but I am now 2lb closer to my goal :)

Good thing is I am well and truly in Ketosis.....phew!

Tried the Chilli soup GROSS......I thought I was going to be ill!

Another day down, not feeling to bad at all...went to mums and she was having a lovely cheesy jacket potato - ack well, loads of time for jackiePs later in life!

Got an invite to an event end of April; making me even more determined to loose at least 30lbs by May...

Hi Flubber! (thats a horrible nickname, I'll have to call you Buster instead! lol). I know you posted on my page, so I was returning the favour!!!

I've just been invited to a family get together with all my partners extended family in May. So I serious about that 30lb target! Ideally I'd like to be down to a size 20 by then, but we'll see how things go.

Hey Kez - your easy peasy do it! I bet if you mega kept to it you could be less than a size 20 by then! Its just about 10 weeks - stay strong!

I can't believe it's been nearly a week since I started; tomorrow night is the big weigh in?!?! If I match my other 2lbs and lose 4lbs this week I will be chuffed to mint balls! I am having issues consuming all that water, in the main because I am just not a massive drinker of anything!

I went to yoga today and came out feeling the best I have felt for ages!

No issues really......I hope it stays like this the whole way through!

Thank you Leeds - I can quite believe it becomes 2nd nature, and congratulations on only having one stone to go!!

Well tonight is week one weigh in and.....I've lost 6lbs this week!!! Yay!

Not only that I have lost 2.5" off my bust, 1" off my hips and 2.5" off my waist...yayyyyyyyyyyyy!

I am now going on SS+ (as been on stage 2 for the first week), I feel fine about that as I was finding it tough to eat a meal as I am totally not hungry!

I also went swimming again in a bid to try and not only help my ankle heal; was quite depressed after as realised how naffed it still is; but perked up after seeing my CDC :) Chuffed!

I have been really lame keeping this up as I have been super busy. Really tricky week as I lost my job :( and moved house last weekend :(

So a challenge it has been, really tough, I did cheat out of SS and added a meal in on most nights to try and avoid making a massive mistake but kept within CD guides and keet it healthy.

I wasn't expecting great things bearing in mind the cheats however was really chuffed at weigh in this morning as I've lost another 5lbs!!

Making my total loss 11lbs in 2 weeks :)

Oh it's been a while but I have been a very busy bee :argh:

Good news is I am easily sticking to the CD I still have the "odd" clean meal at night if I think I am going to bust out and cheat....but thus far and to date I have lost 15lb in 4 weeks and a total of 17 inches in size (Bust, Hips and waist) :flirt2:

I am now getting people saying I look like I have lost weight which is nice and I got wolf whistled at in the Tescos car park lol which was an ego boost!!

I find I am really not that interested in food and now totally not interested in busting the diet, so if there is tasty food I just think how far I have come and how stupid it would be to spoil it now. In reality its a short space of time I am doing this and all that food will be there at the end - just in moderation lol :D

I went out with friends last Saturday and avoided the meal (made excuses) and then hit the town with them all, really wasn't that bothered that I wasn't drinking and there was something oddly enjoyable about seeing everyone suffering with a hangover in the morning and I wasn't :p

I only plan to do CD for the first 3 stone (so until May time) and then there after just be really good with food. In the main I its a money thing as at the moment its costing approx: £50 per week - which I know if I stopped buying the bars and tetra it would be cheaper, but just having shakes would prob mean the crave to cheat more! So 7 more weeks and then I am going to stop but this deffo have given me the inital boost :)

    Hey Flubber,

You're doing fantastically well. To have a lot of things going against you (job, moving house etc) and to still stick to SS/SS+ guidelines you are doing incredible!

How did you find your friends were when you went out socialising? I haven't told any of mine as hoping to surprise them all with a biggish weight loss in May (friends hen do) and then June (the wedding). I've found a fair bit of negative reaction with this diet so only 2 people know I'm on it -boyfriend and friend in work who initially told me about it. So I figure wait til I lose some weight and then when people ask tell them I'm on CD and hopefully they'll be less negative.

    Lou x

Thanks Lou, I am pretty much an all or nothing kinda person, so while all the stress has gone on its been easy to stick to as it is the one thing I have control of!! Deffo seeing quick results helps!

I have had different reactions tbh; one of my good friends is 100% behind me to the point she has stopped drinking and eating out in support (even though she is a lovely size 10) a couple of mates think its dangerous and not sustainable etc and then even though you can now see that I am losing weight I have had some mates absolutely not say a thing. But overall I have kept it fairly quiet and if anyone asks I just say I am keeping it healthy ;)

Hows your first week going?? xx

Hey! So glad you are still on track, you've been doing loads better than me. Are we still on for that 30lbs by May challenge? I'm pulling my finger out this week and sorting myself out.
