    Hi everyone.

I hope you don't mind me posting. I am starting the cambridge diet tomorrow evening/Friday.

This is my first ever attempt at a 'proper' diet. I am currently around 17st (not 100% as I have dodgy scales) and I am a size 22 at worst, 18 at best. I am aiming for a goal weight of around 8 1/2 stone (hopefully size 8/10). I understand that is a harsh goal but before pregnancy 2.5 yrs ago I was a comfortable size 10 and feel if I can put on weight quickly I should hopefully lose the same way.

I am not sure whether I'm on SS or what step it will be. My consultant said I'd be on Red1 which is 4 shakes/porridge and 1 pint of skimmed milk per day.

I'm hoping that they will allow me to skip the milk though as I'm not too fond of it.

I hope you don't mind me posting my journey. In real life I basically hide away unable to talk openly about my weight so hope you don't mind! Also it'll be nice to talk to people going through the same things.

    sorry about the essay!

Just thought I'd reply as I will be starting next Tuesday in an attempt to lose as much weight as I can before my wedding in July.

At 5ft1 and over 14 stone I hoped 3 stone would be realistic.

I'm afraid I can't answer your other questions as I'm meeting with my consultant for the first time tomorrow, but hopefully you know there are other people out there :)

    Hi there!

Just thought I'd pop in to say that I'm starting tomorro and currently weigh in at 16.10?

Having previously did this and every single diet out there going I've decided that I've had enough of being a paranoid hermit and need to finally tackle this!

I think that is a realistic goal, I met my consultant yesterday and she told me that I could down to 10.7 in 18 weeks so here goes...!

Good luck and it would be nice to buddy up!

Thanks for replying! I'm meeting my consultant for the first time tomorrow too.

Yes it would be great if we could all buddy up. We can share the struggles together and maybe pull each other through.

Yes defo! It really is helpful to be able to share stuff with others who are going through the same struggles and help, support and encourage one another. This weight/dieting lark ain't an easy thing!

Let us know how it all goes tomorrow!

I'm slightly nervous about starting tomorrow, I just want to hurry up and get into ketosis and get this weight off, going to take it one day at a time and try not to think of it as such a mahooosive mountain to climb, more like each day we do this is one step closer to goal?

Yes one little day at a time. Sounds less daunting. It doesn't help that I'm the type of person who needs to see results to be motivated. Hence I normally give up after day 1.

Think I'm going to hibernate over the weekend. Try to sleep through the hunger. (I make it sound too easy to myself that I expect it to be easy).

    Do you have weekly goals?

    loulou526 Well-Known Member

Yes I'm exactly the same as you, when I'm on any diet I fully expect to lose at least a pound a day or else I get frustrated and go off on a binge gene the reason I'm overweight and u happy with myself, it's a vicious cycle and I need to change it pronto!

I'm hoping to lose about 3 stone in roughly 6 weeks and that's all because I've been checking out other peoples threads and that seems to be quite the norm in that time span, I guess I would love to be 14 stone something because I've spent so much time losing and putting on the same 7 pounds since last year and seem to be stuck in the 16's lol

How are you feeling about seeing the Cambridge lady tomorrow?

Sorry was supposed to say 2 stone in 6 weeks lol, 3 stone is wishful thinking me thinks!

    Im really nervous now!
Ive got work then meeting my consultant at 5.15. The last thing I need is to see my weight after a long day at work! But if its the last time I ever see it in the 17s then il be happy!

    Hows today going so far?

Awww you'll be fine, you're taking a big step in the right direction! Just think of the transformation, that's what I'm trying to focus on right now!

So today has been good so far, just had the chicken and mushroom soup which I love and about a litre of water down so far, just want today to be over and done with!!!

I think il struggle if I dont like a flavour so I think this 1st week willbe hardest as next week il know what to choose.

Think the bit il find hardest is the drinking water. I enjoy my morning cup of tea too much!

    loulou526 Well-Known Member

Ooooh I love a good cuppa! Tea and coffee are my savior when I'm on any diet so ill defo miss em and cannot stand to drink them black!

Just a couple more hours to go...?
  13. Jemma12

    Jemma12 Well-Known Member

Yeah bout hour and half left to go.

The worst thing im dreading is being more than 17st .. I stopped weighing myself after seeing the 17!
Think I may invest in digi scales though as seeing the pounds go will keep me going! ( I hope!)

I know it tastes foul black! I like my sugar too.

Is there a certain part of day youl find hard?

U might be surprised! I totally hear you on that, it becomes quite scary weighing yourself when you just see the numbers creeping up and up! Remember whatever your weight is today is just a temporary weight and will soon go down!

I'm finding it very hard this very minute? Kids are home from school so getting their dinner prepared is a hard business because I'm soooo hungry!!!

    Help! Lol!

Is this your 1st time or did you restart? I'm a restarter and it feels sooo much harder this time, last time I just got on with it!

Did it a few years ago but only 4 weeks. This time it feels proper and easier, think I'm more in the zone and have a brilliant consultant x

7 st in 10 months.... no problem. I am a similar height and a few years ago lost 6 stone in 6 months doing Cambridge so it is a very realistic target.

I am starting again on Monday so will probably pop on here seeking all the help I can get for the first few days.

    Hope it is going well.

Hey girls can I join you all. Today was my first day and I feel determined as hell !!!!!!!!
i weighed in at 19,6.8 the biggest ever. I go on holiday on the 8 th July and hope I can get a bit off or I will do everything to get out of it. I was also asked last night to be a god mum in August for my cousins wee one.

Yeah the more the merrier! We can all do this.

well had a nice surprise. I weighed in today at 16st6 so already feel like I've made a dent and I've not even started! Puts my BMI at 42 so they want me to still do 4 packs and 1pt milk until I reach a BMI of 40. Although I think il skip the milk anyway.

My consultants are so lovely so have so much more optimism.

Although at £58.80 a week I can't afford for this to not work so that's my motivation. After 2 weeks of a BMI under 40 they will let me move down to 3 packs.

welcome to the other newbies. How's everyone finding it so far? My CDC said days 3&4 are the worst so now to prepare myself.
