a lot to lose

hi guys,

ive posted in intros, but thought i'd post here too, this forum is exactly what i've been looking for.
have 9 stone to lose, and the road seems waay too long. Im sick of being bigger than everyone else, and seeing clothes i cant wear -so this time, im going to do it. I need ALOT of motivation though, so please help

started dieting monday 31.03.2008, lost 9lb already, and hopefully will keep going till i reach my targets :)

Hello and a huge welcome to minimins.
I was exactly where you are now, just under 10 stone to loose (9 if I'm happy whith that when I get there..) and I thought the mountain I was about to climb was bloody high..however, here we are, 11 weeks later and I am half way...

The diet is brilliant and allthough it possibly will not always be plain sailing, it works..

As for minimins - life saver and never ending source of great advise, lovely stories and the best help and support you can find.

Most peeps on here have a great amount of knowledge about everything and as we all put everything together, I don't think you'll ever NOT find an answer to any question you might have..

Gosh, long welcome - post, not normally like me but I have turned into a serial-poster..lol

So, good luck, take care and keep us posted..

i got 9 to go too, well its8.1 now so am inspired, fell off the wagon 2 days ago (chinese....oops...stress at work, excuse not a reason i guess!) and have put 2lbs on since, i got til tuesday to lose it (official weigh day) have to say i'm back on ssing and feeling a bit better, won't be cheating again though, not worth the hassle (or weight gain!) well done on your amazing loss, keep it up!

Hi hun it seems a big mountain when you start but it is only 9 small molehills really .Set yourself some smaller targets some do 10% targets I did the pledges to lose so much a month set up tickers for them and found the time flew past .I am just starting on the plans and can quiet belive that Im coming to the end of the easy bit to start on the road to maintaince so excited and scared at same time lol you can do it loads of support on here xx

Mandye, interesting what you say about coming to the end of the easy bit. I think it's sometimes too easy to think of a diet as 'just to lose the weight' but maintenence will be the hardest thing. I know this is my way of life now and I am ok with that, I realised from the start that this would never be a short term solution to a lifelong problem. It's important to remember that

your not alone i have 9st left to loose as well, this site is great and the ladies(and gents) are all really friendly, and helpful.good luck on your journey, i am sure we can get there together.

Had a crappy day today dietwise, I'm getting freaked out by all the calories :S. it's not nice calorie counting. Didn't go to the gym either. Still, hopefully will make it up tomorrow morning.

Getting sick of steamed and boiled vegetables though, anyone have recipes which are low cal? Preferably with no eggs too :)
