Hi All,

I'm on a kinda blind date thing this weekend, the plan is Saturday night take-out and film at my friends.

I've just been having the 4 meal packs a day with some zero and loads of water but I've decided to include food on Sat - my dilemma is what to eat?

I'll be on day 6 and don't want to come out of ketosis but I don't want to draw undue attention to the fact I'm dieting (esp. VLCD - I don't want to deal with all the teeth sucks and comments about the dangers), I realise I'll have to cook something but what won't look totally random, small and weird while at the same time says - I'm fun; I enjoy socialising and going for nice meals, I'm not self obsessed nor am I gonna bore you with diet talk - while they're all tucking into Indian/Chinese? I can hide the drink issue if I stick to zero.

Help!

Ps. Also have a 'what to wear' dilemma - I realise how pathetic I'm being but in my defence I haven't been on a date in 4yrs - I'm totally out of practice!!!

How about chicken and salad? Nothing too strange about that!

You could have plain chicken tikka ie without the sauce from the indian perhaps and then stick low carb approved veggies in a roasting bag with some spices and shove in the oven for 30 mins. Or stick 100g chicken in there too and dispense with the tikka. Just say you're low carbing (which you are!). I have the roasting bag meal quite a lot and it's nice I think. Makes a decent portion.

Thanks Weasey & Borders, I didn't realise we could do the roasting bag with spices etc. that's great! I could prep it all before I go then just pop it in the oven while they're waiting for delivery. X

I think we've all come up with different ways to cook the chicken and veg otherwise plain chicken and veg gets a bit boring after a while. I either do mine in the roasting bag (which is the easiest option) or stir fry (either dry fry or using frylight).

Just don't use spices like lemon or things that could affect ketosis. Some spices can be quite high in carbs but just watch what and how much you use and you should be fine.

All sound advice and I can't add anything more. I just wanted to say good luck with the date, have fun.

The roasting bag sounds good ideal what do you do chop up all the veg and chicken and mix it all together in the bag with the spice and cook?

Sorry I'm just crap at cooking.

Never seen these roasting bags do asda sell them?

There's a spice I buy it's called chicken lol very original. But it's a mixture and it's lush bet that would be nice in the roasting bag.

So what vegs are best to roast?

I chop chicken, leeks, peppers, shallots and mushrooms into 1" - 2" chunks and then put into the roasting bag, add herbs / spices to suit, shake bag (carefully or it will split!) to coat everything in the spices, tie neck and place in oven for 30 - 40 mins. It all bubbles away in its own juices, no tlc required (which is good as I'm no cook!).

Asda sell the roasting bags - just over a quid for 10 I think.

Oh wow sounds just like my kind of cooking. Lol I'm the kind who caught her arm on fire a week or two ago making other half bacon lol opps

I'll pop in asda and get some as that's a great way to do it :)

Girls sorry this is so late - my internet connection was down then I was away! Thank you for your comments, I can't quite work out how to thank people yet other than just to say it; so thanks! x
