I know it sounds silly on a slimming forum but I am a little worried as I can't seem to stop losing weight.
When I first rejoined SW in May last year I set my target at 9 stone.
I changed to 9 1/2 stone after a couple of months as it seemed too little.
I reached target in December, and when I got to 9 stone 2.5 pounds I changed my target.
Last night I went to WI and found I had lost four pounds in two weeks (I didn't go last week) so at 8 stone 12.5 pounds my C agreed to change my target to the original 9 stone but that's it. I can't change again unless I want to make my target 8 1/2 stone and I don't!
What worries me is that I have had a really "naughty" week last week, and though I did pull back I have not been very good at all. Last week I had a huge pizza and a double baileys hot chocolate.
Apart from those treats I had about 20 to 30 syns a day and about 4 Hexs.
My consultant doesn't think I should be worried and should just up my Hexs, but to me it doesn't make sense. I am generally a slow loser, and used to STS or have small gains when I was being good.
Now I am not really trying the weight is falling off!
I absolutely do not want to go back to eating all the wrong food and start the weight gain cycle again!
My hubby did ask me a few weeks ago if I was feeling ok as I seem to be losing too much. I thought he was just being silly, but now I have started worrying a little.
I really should not have lost anything this week, so why am I?
Just to put my mind at rest I am going to make an appointment with my doc.
    Am I worrying needlessly?
I never, ever thought that too much weight loss would ever be a worry to me!

Sorry about the ramble, but it is niggling me!

It never ceases to amaze me quite how contrary our bodies are. Your body is probably still confused by all the changes and is taking time to settle down, either that or you are so pleased with yourself (as you should be!!) that you are bouncing around so much and expending more energy than you realise!

I think you are exactly right for the sake of peace of mind for yourself and your OH to see your doctor and get yourself checked over, maybe blood tests done. It's very reassuring! I was having a few niggling issues recently and had full blood tests done which showed my general health is good and it really put my mind at rest and I had been starting to worry, which started making my sleeping even worse, so it became a vicious circle.

So in essence, get yourself checked out and then I suppose keep on working on how to balance your syns/HE intake so you achieve equilibrium! Good luck, hope you get it all sorted out! :fingerscrossed:

It will put your mind at rest to go to the doctor and hopefully all is well.
I think getting to target brings its own difficulties, because you aren't trying to lose weight anymore, but you are afraid to put it on aswell, so don't trust yourself to let go.
You said that you were really naughty last week, but made up for it. Maybe you are subconsciously limiting your food intake after you've eaten something off plan.
My Consultant is very specific about having more food now that I'm at target, because it's important to know what your body can handle. It's a skill we have to learn.

Eternity, you are right. It is hard finding a balance!
I have also decided to do a food diary to see how many syns etc. I am having, as it's in my head and am not checking properly, so maybe I am not having as many as I think I am.
I am terrified to gain again, so perhaps I am subconsciously limiting myself.

I agree with everyone else - see your doctor, if only for your own peace of mind. And the food diary's a good idea - post on here too, if you want more input (maybe you've done that already, I haven't checked).

I agree with everyone that you should go to the doc & just get checked to make sure there is nothing wrong, if not then you need to look at what you are eating, I know you said you had a bad week but in a normal week so you exercise much? Do you eat lots of carbs? You may just need to adjust until you find a happy medium that lets you maintain, they do say that the maintaining is the hardest part of the plan so maybe you just aren't eating enough calories each day.

Thanks.. the appointment is made for 10.30 this morning..
I don't exercise much at all but have been walking more than usual in the last month or so, so perhaps that could be a factor.
I do eat quite a lot of carbs, but only ever eat when I am hungry, which is mainly one meal a day and some snacks so perhaps I need to eat more!

Any doctor would say to keep a check on 'unexplained' weight loss, but you never know, the boost in calories may of given your metabolism a slight kick up the rear lol. Sometimes when you start eating the 'wrong' kind of foods it has a adverse affect. Maybe thats all :)

The doc checked everything she could and said I seemed fine but I will be having a blood test next week. I wanted this anyway as I need to have my cholesterol level checked. It was high but with correct eating it may be normal now. I hope!
Anyway, she didn't seem to have heard about SW, which surprised me, but says it sounds sensible! Well, yeah.. it is!
So we shall see, but I am not really so worried any more!

Glad it went well at docs hon. Just thought I would share my experience!

I got to goal last October. That was 11 stone 7lb. I continued to lose weight after that, despite eating more. Then I ended up with the flu in November, and lost half a stone in a week. I went down to 10 stone 8lb. I assumed that my weight would creep up again naturally when I recovered, but it never did so I had to reset my goal, I changed it to 10 stone 10lb in the end. I hovered around that for a month or so but since then its crept up without me changing my eating, I have been bang on 11 stone now for ages! So after losing weight when I didn't actually want to, I now can't lose however hard I try!!!! My ww leader suggested that by increasing my eating when I got to goal, I actually sped up my metabolism and thats why I continued to lose weight. I guess its all levelled off now, and perhaps I am at my 'ideal weight' now. Hope that all makes sense xx

    Just an update.
I had a blood test yesterday, and the surgery called me this morning. The doc wants me to have a glucose tolerance test which I will have done next Thursday.
I had this test done a couple of years ago and I was ok but they found high colesterol then, but not mentioned that this time.
I googled and found that one of the symptoms of hyperglycemia is weight loss, so that could be it.
Reading that made me remember a lady I worked with many years ago, who used to be fairly large before I knew her. She was tiny when I knew her. She was hyperglycemic, and could not eat anything sweet. One slice of chocolate cake made her lose weight! I used to envy her!
I have eaten things this last few weeks that I gave up when joining SW, like choc everyday, thinking I will level out, but am still loosing.
My hubby says I should not jump to conclusions until the test results come back, and he is right, but it kind of makes sense to me. We shall see.... pity I have to wait another week, though!

Thanks for update I wish more people would do that.

I don't know anything about hyperglycemia; other than the weight loss if you eat anything sweet is it a problem?

I think it can be. It is a form of diabetes, so I will probably have to change my way of eating (Now, not normally as SW is so healthy!) and cut back on booze :cry:if that is what I have. I am not totally clued up on it but hopefully I will be told all!

Don't start reading too much about diabetes at this stage otherwise you will worry yourself maybe unnecessarily. Your GP is probably being cautious. Have you had other symptoms such as excess thirst or increased number of infections? Don't forget there are two main types of diabetes and it is highly unlikely that you will have type one which is the one that is controlled by insulin injections. Good luck with the GTT and let us know the results ( I used to be a diabetic nurse specialist but for little people so I was involved with Type one )
