Angie's Exante Adventure

All best wishes for surgery Angie.......you'll feel so much better afterwards :)
Many thanks,

It's weird being back on a Vlcd sanctioned by my surgeon which I have to follow for the next 11 days.
His version is 8 muller yogurts or 4 pints of semi skimmed and 1 multivitamin, 3 pieces of no sugar gum, 1 no sugar jelly and a cup of bouillon.

Having looked up other versions of the liver reducing diet, I realise the bottom line is dropping the fat and glycogen from the liver by having a low fat, low carb, med carb 800 cal diet, so today I am having 2 pints of skim milk (400cal) with a spag Bol from exante and a babybel, a slim piece of ham, and one of the muller yogurts I got in. Whatever way, it'll be around 800cals and high in calcium, low cal, low carb.

I am hoping I will be well under 15 stone by the time of the op and ready to get going on the rest of my Vlcd journey.

It's good I only need to lose 3 stone rather than the 5 stone to lose in January.

Was 17.10
Am 15.7 or less (will weigh tomorrow)
Will be 12.2

You are doing great on the weight loss Angie:0clapper:
Thank you Mini,
And thank you for rebooting minimins, it's the one thing I have relied on consistently over many years

Okay I'm back.

I'm back and I'm going straight back into exante. 3 packs a day. 1 savoury meal, 1 shake, 1 bar. Lots of black coffee and mint tea.

Am coming on here to be accountable.

From my long and varied experience I know it is hard at first whilst you're committing to the new diet, but after about 4 days yr in ketosis and its weight loss city. Until yr tested by the first weekend, then its practicing restraint until it becomes yr way of life again.

I also remember that losing weight can be scary, but I'm going to keep the faith, do the diet, lose the next 2 stone, which is why my next goal is 13.8, it's not my main goal but a good stopping and taking stock point.

Was 17.10
Am 15.10
Will be 13.10 (in the first instance)

Hi mini,

Day started well, just weak black coffee and mint tea while at work.
Then have had a blueberry shake at 5pm, half a bar just now and then I have some burger mix with lettuce and smidge of mayo later and half a bar b4 bed and it'll be mint tea all evening.

My prob was having a shake and then quickly going back for a bar as I felt entitled and poss slightly peckish. But I shouldn't have had the bar so soon, next time I will wait and have the savoury at 7pm then a bar at 9. Need to spread it out.

I will plan to eat at 5, 7 and 9, don't want to go to sleep hungry and fasting has been shown to wake women's brains up. So must keep some food for b4 bed

Welcome back :)
Hi Darcy, hi mini,

Am in the zone diet-wise, even though I have had some tummy distress, as my newly gallbladderless body is getting used to a new way of eating and too much coffee this am. Have had to cancel appointments, but will make up the time later in the week. Am taking it easy, taking in lots of mint tea and resting.

Vlcds suit me, once I'm in the zone I'm there, I'm committed and I'm happy to be back on the bus.

Good to hear you are in the zone Angie.

Sorry to hear you have tummy troubles...hope you feel better and get another day done and dusted.

Yep, no regular food passing my lips today, but am looking forward to an exante burger mix later, possibly with Thai chick soup, as a chaser and yog crunch bar for later. Simples =)

Been years since I tried exante and back in the day it was similar to Lipotrim...basic, bland and little choice. Now it seems to have a vast variety of products...some like the burger mix I have not heard of, so I am curious does it turn out looking and tasting like a burger?

Well it's a spicy soy mix so not totally like a burger, but I also got the sausage mix and that's far more like a burger. I'm going from memory, I got the packs b4 my opp and haven't had them for a bit. I was going to have one of the burger packs last night but changed my mind, but will have one tonight. exante also have things like a small pot noodle black bean curry, they have really expanded their range. I find the Choc orange bar and the raisen bar still suck, but they have really expanded the range. Not like back in the day when it was only cd and lipotrim. I mix and match across s&s and exante, keeping in mind the calories and nutritional content. I sometimes drop a pack and have a can of fish with some salad and then just add a floradix half dose of vitamins.

In some ways I'm glad I've don this diet b4, once I'm in the zone I'm there and it's kind of easy. I have also kept off a 2 stone loss so am confident I'll be able to maintain

So after 2 days of a clenching tummy I'm 7lbs down.

I'm 15.3 this am. My next line in the sand, notch on my measuring stick, written in stone, forged in steel next number is 14.10
At that point I'll have lost 3 stone and be half way through.
Have decided 11.10 is a good place to stop, it's a few lbs below my looking at my best weight, but about 10-14 lbs heavier than my lowest weight where my legs looked the longest, but the rest of me looked a bit too skinny. Unfortunately however much I skinny down, it comes off my neck, ribs and collarbones too much, leaving fat on my waist. So anyway, 11.10 feels a good long term goal, in my 20's I maintained between 11 and 12 stone for ages, was a size 14. I will be that again.

It's been good, I started this diet in Jan and really said to myself I needed to give myself a year to do it. I had to stop because of surgery, but that showed me I could maintain, even when on normal food and sometimes eating crap. The thing is to weigh regularly at least once a month, then when u put on a bit u at least realise it's happening.

I am in the zone, but very tired as have had upset tummy for 3 days. Not sure if it is a tummy bug, my system getting used to the packs again or if my having no gallbladder is having an effect.

So on 1 hand I am chuffed I know I'll lose a lot this week, but on the other feeling really tired.

But a big loss is a big boost. It should drop kick me into the 14 stone somethings nicely.

I'm looking at September and thinking I can be back at my best weight by then, and I'll be on track to be off the Vlcd by my birthday and tackling Maintaining up to Christmas and beyond.

Being lighter in the future doesn't seem to be worrying me. I think it's because I know I'm not doing this to attract others and I know in fact as I get thinner, some people are likely to say not to lose more, so I'm not doing it for their approval. I was 11-12 stone all of my late teens to much of my 20's I will be that weight again, the. I'm going to stay that weight
