another newbie

Hi all

I've just registered and thought it would be good to join in a bit (not usually very good at joining things), been reading for the last week or so and it's down to you guys that I chose exante!

I'm starting tomorrow, I hope, my delivery is coming tomorrow so I hope it comes at a reasonable time....i've totally psyched myself up for starting tomorrow so fingers crossed..

As for past experience I did really well on s w last year, i lost 2.5st in 3 months, then went on holiday and put on 3lbs but just couldn't get back in to it when i got back and have now put all but half a st back on! so i hope in doing this type of diet I can break some habits and stop these dreadful cycles and just start again with my whole relationship with food. I've got a big holiday in 13 weeks so am planning on doing total for 12 weeks then moving on to the next stage and see how I go. I really really want to lose 3 st in 12 weeks i have about 8st to lose in total so 3st would be a good start and get me back in to last years holiday clothes!

I do quite a bit of chunnering, i do apologise!

Hey Deb :) welcome :) good luck with tomorrow :) drink lots of water and take some paracetamol if you get the carb withdrawal headache :)

Hello and welcome! Day 4 almost over for me and I have been a lot better today. First few days are hard but as suggested drink lots of water and take paracetamol if the carb withdrawal headache gets too much, this does help :)

Hi and thanks for the advice!!! i've stocked up on paracetemol, i know i'll need them as i'm (was) a total carb junkie! can't wait to get started, i put off a trip to see my sister down south just so i can concentrate on getting over the first week rather than be faced with lots of socialising, alcohol and meals out xx
 
Hi Debbie, you should hopefully get a text tomorrow to let you know when your delivery will be arriving so just try to hang in there with plenty of water and coffee. It is hard for the first few days I have even had tears and felt very low but none of that was due to hunger Im sure it has something to do with the emotions around food. I have also given myself the 3st target but looking at the other loses I hope we will achieve it earlier than 12 wks. I will still weigh 13st after my target but I am worried that everything will drop to low so it's a let's see target, perhaps my skin will cope with more loss. I have my week 1 weigh day in the morning so fingers crossed i see a good loss.

I wrote a reply but it seems to have disappeared??? it was quite long but basically, thanks so much for the advice, I sent DH out to get me some paracetemol earlier so nicely stocked up on that....i'm really excited to get started and seeing the fabulous 1st week losses is so motivating!! good luck to you all this week!!
I'm going to try and get on here when i can, I've told a few people that i'm going on this diet and they all think it's crazy and my husband keeps asking if i'm sure i can manage without wine for more than a week.... so not getting too much support there but I guess you're all going through or have been through it too...weigh in tomorrow will be painful though :-(

Hi Bub, i've had an email with a tracking thing so will check it am. I get the whole emotions around food thing, this is what i want to break, i'm aware of it and the triggers...annoyance and monotony are high on the list.... as for the skin, i'm going to use a body brush and skin firming moisturisers just incase they even remotely help! My skin was fine when i lost quite qquickly last year but i'm aware that going up and down and age etc all affect it....so this needs to be the last time it goes up!

It's always difficult facing the job in had but look at it as a positive because whatever you weigh tomorrow you will weigh less on Wednesday. 1 day at at time, that's what I have told myself each day. I have resisted the scales but looking at all the other losses on TS I am sure every day I have weighed less than the day before. Good luck xx
 
Hope you get your package today and i wish you luck on your journey, im only on day 2 myself, yesterday was easier then expected, just the constant trips to the toilet that drive me mad but least im getting exercise keep going up and down the stairs :)

Thanks everyone, what a lovely bunch you all are!!

My pack arrived at 2pm.....i survived the morning on water and black coffee, oddly i'd never had that before and it was ok with a sweetex in it. I was so busy cleaning I didn't even notice any hunger pangs! so I had a chocolate shake for my first one and it was ok, i'm used to slimfast ones, which i LOVE but by the end of it I was used to it...i'm having a bar later and then a shake sometime later this evening.....just need to get through these first few days and work out which flavours I like

Well done, plan a bath for tonight and an early night, on my first day I was in bed by 10.15pm and I don't normally go until 12.30am. I felt cold and tierd I knew if I didn't go up I would of got myself in trouble.
It gets easier I promise everyone on here is proof of that and dream of a slimmer you. Xx
 
Hi Debbie. Welcome to the forum, its a good idea to come on here regularly as the support is essential. So many people are in the same boat as you. The 3 stone target in 12 weeks is a realistic goal & the water intake really does help those pounds come off. Good luck this week.

It's now day 3, find it all good so far but so glad I read the tips on here, especially about the ice, i quite like all the flavours so far but my absolute fave is vanilla with a bit of coffee and crushed ice YUM! Bars are just ok, handy for when out and about but i can't eat a whole one! I've planned some rewards for when I reach little goals and bought some new books for those early nights.
