Anyone else weigh at home on a thursday- wanna post?

Nettie congratulations on Sts , that's not a gain! So it's just great that you maintained. Don't be gutted and certainly don't go into this week feeling despondent , jump on the ranch stage and head off into them there hills with us to a fun packed smoking week.
Yes you can have water retention still and have a 'cycle' even without periods so its a likely possibility but also the lack of movement in the derrière region won't be helping. My advice would be to take a treat tonight, a bar of choc / small muffin whatever you have avoided, have it as a reward and you should find that the calorie boost will also boost your metabolism. Don't forget you've had 2 great weeks of big losses and your body could be taking a breather. Stick at it honey and it'll be different next week xx

Morning everyone, I have just weighed in and I've STS. I am totally gutted, I have been 100% on plan and to top it off my OH has lost 4lbs! I don't have periods but I know that I can still get the water retention so I am hoping that 's what it is, I do feel a little bloated but I didn't know if that was because I've had 'toilet trouble' for 2 days, I have marked it as a star week just so I can monitor it.
Good luck with WI today everyone xx
Morning Nettie.. So as not to repeat I'll just say "what Pebs said" I was about to type it but waited til I got to the end of new posts.. She's put it better than I probably would have too so at least it makes sense... STS is nothing to be disappointed about..
Morning morning my beautiful weighers. Pleased delighted and just wetting my pants to announce a 5lbs loss for me this week. Heading off into the next week with gusto and determination and I'm ready to take you with me ( like it or not) so saddle up as we head into the American week with enthusiasm. Tracy and dubs you will remember these themes which spurred us on before. ( watch out! major pebbmeister is back) for our gorgeous new ladies hold tight and prepare to take a whistlestop tour on the stagecoach to slimville.
So the challenge this week , should you choose to accept it, is to come up with as many American themed dishes as you can within your budget/ cupboard ingredients etc.
so, tomorrow we are having slimming world KENTUCKY fried chicken. Saturday we are having COWBOY RANCH PIE. Etc.

Who has skipped with the water due to the freezing cold? I did yesterday, so get back on the wagon and grab those water bags cos the coach is leaving soon and you have a place booked in the saloon on a water drinking competition.
Good luck for weigh ins xxx
Pebs, WELL DONE... Am so delighted for you.. Whoop whoop..
Unfortunately due to me not staying at home, I'll miss my Minimins WI this week and I'm not cooking, so meals are out of my control... I'll see if I can incorporate the America theme into my lunches n maybe brekkie... If I can.. Water i've started to slip a bit on with only drinking 1Lt yesterday so i'm up for that challenge.. That's one I have control over...

My SW WI on Tuesday night showed a 3.5LB loss.. (Not sure if I posted that here.. Coz I'm not recording their WI on here I probably didn't)

3lbs down this week and its star week so im a happy girl

Dont worry Nettie, and dont look at it like STS think of it as not gaining. You have done so brilliantly so please dont be disappointed. xxxx

Hi there everyone!!

I'm a newbie to the site and I'm doing SW from home as I'm just not able to commit to going to a group every week.

I've been doing SW since the new year and after a stressful week at work last week with Ofsted (which included lots of chocolate and a macdonalds and a pasty) I've now lost a total of 4lb and I'm 10stone 2 now.
My target weight is 9stone 7 - still a bit to go.

Ah thank you dubchick81. I know I've not got lots to lose but it's more about wanting to not be in between sizes or constantly feel like I have to breathe in next to my skinny friends!!!

Ha ha ha.. I'll be as compliant as I can this week.. But do require a little lee-way as I'm not the cook... :D
I'll make up for it with 1hour minimum walks each evening as I've also to do all the puppy walks... God damn Jonathan and his stupid broken arm  lol

6 spring onions, white bulb thinly sliced and green leaves finely chopped
500g pack fresh diced carrot and swede

Then add the white spring onions to the mince and stir fry for a further 2 minutes or until the meat is browned.

2) Add the carrot and swede, baked beans, beef stock, worcestershire sauce and
herbs, then season. Bring to the boil, cover, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3) Preheat the grill to medium. Make the mash according to packet instructions.

well done everyone on your losses xx

well went to the docs today.
have just done a self referall to the physio and have a place booked at the leisure centre for next tuesday to join a group called live well suffolk.
it runs for 12 weeks and its for people that have a weight problem, and that have an ongoing medical condition. the doc said that my knee is very bad,but at this group there will be a trainer that will give me specific exersises where i wont need to use my knee.
the doc also said that i should look into intermediate fasting, which is where you eat totally normally for 5 days a week, but on the other 2 you only have 500 cals ?????
not sure if i'm convinced by this, but he says its very good at getting your metabolism going, and as i seem to be a bit stuck at the moment maybe it would be worth a try ???? :greenapple::greenapple::greenapple:

Sounds good.. Maybe the JUDDD may be something to look at also.. OR... I got these Digestive Enzyme capsules in the Healthfood Shop the other day.. They're meant to help kick start the metabolism also.. So may also be worth a look
Either way you seem allot happier and that group sounds like just the ticket :D

Fantastic losses guys, I'm starting to feel the stirrings of motivation!!! As mentioned, I joined a local slimming group - and although I've stuck to plan, I'm very disappointed with it. It's very similar to sw in that you have free foods, limited foods and "Yumz" - like syncs. The problem is that there are very few recipes and no way of working out the yum value of anything. Today's recipe was for prawn and chicken stir fry - but all it said was to fry the chicken and prawns with garlic ginger and chilli and serve with rice. Sure that's not a recipe - that's dry chicken and rice! I really thought I needed the support of group, but I think I need the freedom of slimming world more!!

Well that doesn't sound helpful at all.. I mean, people who start a diet from scratch sometimes need step by step EXACTLY whats to be done.. Why not follow slimming world, and use group as a weigh in?? I know its quite expensive for to just get weighed, but if you feel those eyes when you've had a bad week it may be worth a shot??

youre right! that IS dry chicken and rice
stick with us and like dub said, if you think you'll cheat if not being officially weighed, then go to group for that.
they dont need to know that youve got alternative eating plans, so long as they see you losing weight.
But - you know what smurfy - YOU CAN DO THIS with/ without group etc , you just need to believe in yourself. look how well you did before.
i know you can, just plan those meals and try the challenges, if nothing else, theyre meant to make you giggle and giggling is definitely a fat burning exercise, trust me i know, im a nurse. lol
:banana dancer:

chinese new year coming soon, so, stayed tuned for some dishes with oriental flavour for our next trip around the world.

anyone got any plans for american menu?
first day today and tonight weve got slimming world style KFC ( sorry tracy, - as she runs off to throw up) :yuk:
sw american fries, and coleslaw.
tomorrow, blueberry pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast,
sunday is cowboy pie,
monday new york bbq chicken melt.

boy oh boy is it cold today :gen125: and snows been falling for hours now.
had a cappuchino and marmite toast for breakfast at work and made a shed load of carrot and coriander soup, so ive that for lunch plus a banana. addressing the lack of fluids by bringing in a litre of orange squash to slurp on. lots of patients cancelling today due to snow so ive had time to make a coffee which is a bonus! only thing i cant yet tackle is my jogging, as soon as im fit enough i'll start that again but for now i have to rely on a bit of walking which im doing between surgeries at lunchtimes as im not up to driving fully.
good luck for anyone left to weigh this week and im so thrilled with our 1st 2.5lbs loss this week well done. plus i want to say a big mention to my best buddy - sarah who has also lost 2lb this week despite working 4 night shifts which tests ones patience let alone digestion . well done ol pal xxxxxxx
:dancing_snowman:
