Asda mince

Less than 5% fat is classed as extra lean on SW but I don't know if there is an industry definition.

Has anyone looked at the nutritional info on the pack to see how much fat it actually has per 100g. It says less than 10% but it could be close to 5% if not under.

I had a look, and it says

Pan fried, per 100g is 3g fat.
How that compares to the actual 5% I don't know. maybe someone with 5% in their fridge can tell us?

even though that is a cooked weight?

Not sure if it makes any difference being cooked weight, I wouldn't think so as its still only 3% but if it helps I just looked at my small pack of extra lean that says less then 5% fat and it says the same as yours - 100g cooked has 3g of fat!!
So hopefully that means free- its the same so I don't see why not?
I think it has been labelled wrongly - its less than 5%!

yay!! guess I'll have to apologise to asda

Glad that it is sorted as i have eaten some today and was going to syn it, i can now use my syns for a treat yay.

Oh bugger so I could have bought some after all!
Sorry for worrying everyone!
Still don't understand why they put typically less than 10%! idiots!
