    Had a horrible day yesterday.

I took my elderly guinea pig to the vet and she didn't come home:cry:. Not the worst thing that can happen in life, but certainly depressing!

When I got home I immediately thought "I need chocolate and wine!". I was so close to going to the shop to buy said junk.

But then the realisation hit me. WHY do I need these things? What am I thinking? Do I really want to spend the next 48hours battling to get back into ketosis? And isn't this reliance on food what has got me so fat and miserable in the first place?!

So I downed a load of water and took myself off to bed.

I've woken up this morning feeling so relieved that I didn't break my diet. Being a bit sad is bad enough, without being angry with myself at the same time.

Emotional eating has to stop! Feeling positive and proud :)

    Thank you you so much!
I am quite proud of myself, and also learned a valuable lesson about the uselessness of emotional eating.

long may the willpower last xxxx

Yes well done. Understanding why and when we eat is half the battle. The choc and wine doesn't make the feelings go away, they are still there, and on this diet we are learning to deal with hard times rather than smother them with calories which make us feel worse/down/guilty etc. These are really positive steps we are taking. Good on you!

Well done you! It can be so hard denying ourselves rubbish we don't need, which just goes to show how controlling food can be. glad you got the upper hand. :)

Well done! Your post is inspirational! I did the complete opposite to you when I got annoyed at something and I have those guilty feelings right now. I am glad I read your post though as the next time I feel bad I will ask myself those questions and remind myself it is possible to feel better without food.

Im pleased it helped you. That's kind of why I shared it. Believe me, 9 times out of 10 I'm feeling guilty for giving into food too. But we do all need to learn from experience. We're in for a bumpy ride, but at least we're in it together. Chin up, tomorrow's a new day xxxx
