    Hi Everyone

Thought I would start my diary over here. I went to see doc on Monday who referred me to weight management nurse. I thought I would get xenical when I saw her on Wednesday but I was given a low fat diet sheet and xenical diet sheet to read and told to come back in 4 weeks. She will weigh me every 4 weeks and when I loose 5% (13lb) of my starting weight she will prescribe the xenical. I want to do this by my next appointment 21st December.

I have been online and am seeing the pharmacist in boots on saturday for 1 month supply of xenical it's costing £55 but I am hoping I wont need ot buy anymore at that price.

I have started my low fat diet yesterday and will post a food diary on this thread as well.

So here goes, wish me luck and the exercise is another matter!!!

    Morning everyone

I know I shouldn't but I have been on my scales at home today, I need to get rid of them I think. They show 1 pound down but that's only in 2 days and `I don't have the xenical yet just following the diet.

    Todays food is

Brekkie - special k berries and skimmed milk, grapes

dinner - homemade veg soup and ryvita thins with x-lite philly, yogurt and pineapple

    snack - cereal bar

tea - trout fillet, salad with feta, jacket potato made into chips with frylite

then meringue nest with SF jelly

will probably be around 1300 cals for the day x

Wobbly don't cut too many calories. I know j sound like the voice of doom but the reason many dieters fail is because they cut too much out and when you do that your body goes into starvation mode and stores the fat because it thinks you're not going to feed it again. Actually making it more difficult to lose weight.
Mfp or the Tesco website have a good widget to tell you how many calories you can safely eat and lose weight without doing damage to your body .

I don't think you're the voice of doom Kat what you say is true, I've used mfp & I do my best to eat the calories it recommends, the only thing I don't stick to is the fat...

    Hi Wobbly

Good luck with the weight loss. Do you do any exercise? I have been dieting since I was about 12 and this is the only time I have exercised and it is the only time I have lost weight and not put it straight back on. I would recommend you do some if you can.

    Hi everyone

Diet going really well, been on 1200-1300 cals a day and about 15g fat per day.

I need to get back into the exercise!! So hard when its cold and dark, I used to exercise on a morning before work but can't drag my arse out of bed at the minute. Need to get in a routine of doing it straight after work before I sit back down.

Thanks everyone for replying and hoping my weight startes to shift now x x

I agree it's a viscous circle finding the energy to exercise in the morning yet once you're in the habit it's straight forwards.
