That is the thing, losing weight can help Sleep Apnoea, I know a lot of people, one in particular who had particularly bad Sleep Apnoea and he managed to lose 3 and half stones, so I am not sure what your nurse is saying, but I suppose they are more of an expert than me. But all in all healthy eating must be a good thing either way!!!

Yeah I was stopping breathing 90 times per hour which is very scary. I mean, severe sleep apnea is 30! 🙄 the CPAP machine does a great job bringing it down in number but because of other health conditions I'm having problems using it for long 🙄

I should be put on the scrap heap 🤣

That is scary, but having a healthy eating plan can only be a good thing right? I really hope you find a balance that will suit you and wish you well x

Oh I've always eaten healthily the soup I lived on for the putting on 3lb a week was 1 potato 4 carrots half a Swede and cabbage/spinach etc...

All healthy but..I put on weight

Probably because I'm so special 🤣🤣

I think some of us fat folk are really responsive to carbs. I've probably eaten as much in fat and protein in calories but still lost weight when I lowered the carbs. There's a chap who tweets as lowcarbgp and a website called dietdoctor.com that you may find interesting.

It will be wonderful if you can recover sleep.

Well the problem is even if you take sleep apnea out of the equation I still have non restorative sleep so it's a silly situation indeed

Yes I tried keto for a year. Under 20 carbs per day and it only stopped me putting weight on I never lost any. My specialist told me not to worry but ... of course I shall 🙄

Exactly. That's why my body is in crisis as atm I can't even use CPAP for long. Will see what happens after first few weeks 👍 as I always lose water weight at first but sometimes it just comes back again 🙄

Fingers crossed 😁😁😁😁

Gosh, Sam, your situation sounds so challenging. Are you hoping some weight loss will help with the sleep apnea, or is your sleep apnea not caused by excess weight?

I have had friends, due to psych med weight gain. that needed to use a CPAP for sleep apnea, but it sounds like your situation is something different. I guess you wake up still tired, not feeling like you've slept well..you mention you have non restorative sleep in addition to sleep apnea. Chronic exhaustion I can relate to, having suffered the worst insomnia for many years.. so wow, well done you for giving it a go, my hat's off to you.

For years I've tried so so hard. I'm never going to stop trying. I've eaten healthily for years and gained so much weight I'm just hoping that this time if it goes it will stay the heck away 🤣🤣
