Bit of advice for friend re: booked holidays

big bear

A bear on a mission!
My friend booked 2 weeks holiday with 1 supervisor 6 wks in advance. This was agreed and written in work diary.

2nd supervisor cancels the holiday.

Can she do this? My friend had booked a holiday once it was agreed.

What can she do? X

I'm assuming she's got nowhere by speaking to the 2nd Supervisor to ask why it was cancelled & explain implications? Also, what has 1st Supervisor said or done about her authority being ignored?

Next step for me would be to speak to 'their' supervisor/manager to explain situation and ask if one can actually overrule the other's decisions.

No, if it's bean approved in writing at the very least the company have to reimburse her for any losses, eg the cost of the holiday. She should check her contract. Holiday is a right. Legally speaking, a company cannot refuse holiday requests, let alone cancel already approved holiday requests.
