Button jars?

    Do you think we shall all make them & once a week on weigh in day post a piccie of them so we can see the difference? It's like a visual aid & the joy of moving 5 across this morning was immense. If you haven't read my diary & don't know what I mean here is piccie of mine. The left jar is a button to represent every lb lost & the right jar is a button for every lb left to go....

    They're gorgeous! ! I'm not creative at all so mine would be rubbish but I think it's a lovely idea! :)

    I didn't make the jars they were sewing kits. Kitty has used jam jars & marbles which I think is a really clever idea

    I do this! Just restarted for my 2014 journey!

    Except I have 3 jars, helps me with my smaller targets....

    1.first jar has all the weight in I want to lose (1 bell = 1 pound)

    2. I have broken my big target I to smaller ones, my first target is to lose 9lbs to get me into the next stone bracket....therefore my second jar current has 9 bells in.....

    3. The end jar is my gone jar for every pound I have lost!!

    I find having the second jar helps me feel more positive and I can concentrate one target at a time rather than feeling disheartened at the bigger number! ImageUploadedByMiniMins.com1388827952.983355.jpg

    Thats a really good idea, I suppose I am lucky that I am quite close to my target now so it doesn't look really hard

    I did this today :)

    Well, I didn't use buttons because I don't have enough of them but I have two Kilner jars. One filled with pieces of paper for pounds I need to lose, and one filled with pieces of paper for pounds I have lost.

    I think I'm going to hunt around my house to see if I can find something more colourful than paper.

    Oooh Jenny I quite like the 3 jars idea. I have a lot to lose and have only just started out on my journey so having the small step jar in between maybe a perfect way to not be overwhelmed by the huge first jar.:D

    Moved 3 more across today to the pounds lost jar & then realised that as I have lowered my goal weight I need to add another 10 buttons in the to lose jar......

    Adding more buttons. Just when that jar was emptying out nicely. That would hit me psychologically even though it was my choice to do it to myself and lower my goal.

    How about origami stars? The first few may not quite end up the right shape but they're easy to make once you've got it down.


    You could use up wrapping paper scraps or any colourful paper you have around.

    Also...so stealing this idea! I'm very visual, and seeing the one jar dwindle and the other fill will make me feel really good!
