i NEED to return to LL! DESPERATELY!!!!

i am new to this forum, i joined lighterlife in sept 07 and weighed in at 16st 2lbs, by the end of my 14 weeks i weighed 13st 5lbs! almost 3 stone lost, but a few bad days here and there so could have lost 4+ stones if i had stuck to it religiously! Well i was a size 18-20 when i began and got down to size 14 so for the first time in a long time i felt really good and sexy again! Came off the plan at xmas, kept convincing myself that i would go back again to my classes and i havent! I am now 14st 5! A STONE ON!!!! :cry:
I HAVE to get back to LL! HAVE TO! I have become totally out of control again and i know what i have to do, but CAN i stick to it again??? IM so worried i will fail again!:sigh: Is it harder 2nd time round?

Hi Jellie

I have heard that second time round is alot harder, but then it sounds asif you really want it badly enough, so maybe if you are in the right mindset it will be easier.

It is the one thing that scares me more than anything is putting the weight back on, I am so scared of that.

Thanks Tange! I really DO want it so bad and i know i will feel so much better when i am actively losing weight! I just cant control myself around food! I have tried ww sw and healthy eating, for me it doesnt work! I hate the thought of NOT eating, but i know that abstinence is the ONLY way for me! Will keep u posted! And well done for ur weight loss! FANTASTIC!!! xx

I'm a restarter too. Lost 3st4lbs last year in my 100 days and finished them in early October. I came back and did Cambridge for a few months then low-carbed - in the course of this I dropped slightly less than a stone overall (put on on holiday and spectacularly over Christmas). I like low-carbing (was doing India and Neris' Idiot Proof Diet) but I don't lose weight on it - or I was losing, then I'd eat something sweet, put weight on and only be able to lose a little bit of that. Consequently I was a stone heavier as of last week than my lowest ever weight - and the only thing that has ever worked for me is LL.

So, I'm back and I'm on day 4. I have a great LLC this time around (my last one was pretty awful - nice enough but hopeless on the counselling). I am looking at it that I have gained more determination - I know I can lose on LL, I know nothing else works, I want to lose another 3-3 1/2 st and I'm just going to knuckle down and get on with it. I am glad that I had the self-realisation (if that's a word at all) and discipline (of a type!) to get back on to this when I'd put on a stone. You hear heart-breaking stories about people putting it all back on - that's not going to be me. Don't let it be you either.

You know how to do this, you know it works. Sure, it's tough but you get results. And this is from a slow loser!

Hope you decide to go for it - be handy for me to have someone at the same stage too (selfishly)! We can do it! Go us!

You can do it, the only reason you wouldn't be able to is if you convince yourself you can't.

The only thing that worries me is your mindset about losing weight this way because you can't control yourself around food (we've all been there!) I think it would be a healthier state of mind to think about LL as a means to teaching you that control.

If you never learn to deal with your food issues, it'll be a 3rd time on LL, then a 4th etc. I don't think LL is a diet, it's more like therapy! The weight loss is a side effect of learning how to live in balance with food.

thanks everyone! i am starting again next friday! Pick my packs up on thursday and i REALLY cant wait to start my journey again! xx

I find the worst thing you or I or anyone can do is say "if id've done this I could've lost this much". You're just punishing yourself! Dust yourself off and try again :) Chin up Jellybabie, you can do it! :)

Good luck with your restart Jellybabie(i'm laughing as I'm typing that I love jelly baby's) keep in touch it really helps to vent off sometimes
