Can someone please explain the 1/3 and 2/3 rule(s) to me?

I have only been a member and going to group since October. I understand some of the rules are from previously.

What is allowed for 1/3 and 2/3?

I've now got the HEX's sorted and understand the necessity for balance and dairy etc.

I even try to incorporate the 5-a-day rule with fruit/veg/salad.

You could look at it that you should have a maximum of 2/3rds FREE food (alongside the 1/3rd superfree) - but other than that, no, no 'official' 2/3rds rule really :)
