Hi Guys,

Just got back from my week 5 weigh in - very interesting got 2 new starters - strange looking back at how they feel at the start and compare it to where I am now - deja vu or what!!

Anyhow the stats

15.01.07 : 16..............341lbs. First weeks loss.
22.01.07 : 11..............330lbs. Second week....
29.01.07 : 04..............326lbs. Third week (oh poo)
05.02.07 : 06..............320lbs. Fourth week (thats a bit better)
12.02.07 : 06..............314lbs. Fifth Week (uummm - can live with this as a run rate :D )

well it's better than a hole in the head but still a little disappinted.Not good mind set. Disappointed> Despondant>demotivated>Give up >back to square 1.
Moral:lower expectations. new rule -2lb =ok .>-2lb =good.

uh oh - gotta work on this negativity with you.

One stone a month is the runrate of the last 3 weeks. so that means by Easter - another 2 stone gone and if you take a late holiday in July when the kids are off - 5 stone and then swimwear is calling. (sod the sun - to show off!).

Its a matter of logic - 500 cals a day will average out around 3-4lbs a week for ladies and 5-6lbs a week for lumps like me.

Key word - average

chin up and just know it works - cos it will
 
Oh mindless I know you are right. it's just 5lb in 2 weks & I'm still fairly early in the journey,means I had expected more.
I used to claim to be an intelligent educated woman ,with a reasonable understanding of physiology,but there is a small voice in me that suggests from time to time that my personal metabolism can shut down & go mega-efficient. Of course the rational part of me knows I'm not a martian & bio-chemistry is universal,but hey I'm female,&worse I'm a fat female & we aren't reknowned for clear thinking as far as our bodies are concerned.
NEXT week may be a nce surprise though eh?
 
oh D-Q thankyou. I'm just too impatient. i worked so hard through 2004 & 2005 to get from about 17.10 to juust under 14. then i got a viral illness in Jan 2006 & pneumonia on top. I wasn't seriously ill,infact didn't realise what the problem was for 3 months. i was just weak & sooo tired.I slept most of the time & when i was awake stuffed in the carbs as my body told me they would give me the energy i needed. By the time I had the sense to visit GP,who made the diagnosis as soon as she listened to my chest,much of the weight had gone back on .My finess gained by long sessions at the gym had melted away & it all seemed too high a mountain to climb again.
So now i'm back on track, & doing it in the fast track, i just want to get back to where I was beforeI got ill. somehow I don't feel that It really counts until i'm on new terrirory.

Just got back from my week 6 weigh in. The 2 new starters were ecstatic at their first weeks losses - 16 and 13 pounds respectively - aahhh, those were the days before Mr Inconsistency came to visit

I managed a feeble 3 pounds but hey, I tempted fate last week anyway so life has a way of levelling you. Taking comfort in that I was 100% SS during the week so the weight loss will come - and 3 pounds a week is no disaster by any means.

So the stats

3lbs is great Mindless. We'd all love 6lbs every week but have to accept it dont happen. Better off than on I say.
