Id forgotten about frozen stuff, the bigger sainsburys and tescos have absolutly bargainous packs of white fish froze, you get 6-8 good fillets. And there are basics/value frozen prawns.

We get these all the time and they're nice, as are the 300 cheapo eggs for £3 or whatever it is. Also, does your Tesco have an "international foods" bit?, the spices etc. are cheaper there.
Iceland often do good deals on frozen meat although I'd be careful about what's added to it i.e. dextrose etc.

Tesco had an offer on today on chilled deli things, up to half price off, but all I could see in ours were the pork fridge raider things which seemed to be full of rubbish.

Can you get to a market or something to buy extra meat and veg? Or Costco? Get it portioned up and frozen.
