    Hi everyone,
Today i was starving after a long day of work so i ordered some chinese food from a chinese takeaway that has no MSG in their food. Aside from the health benefits of food with no MSG, is it likely that the food had a lot less calories than most takeaways?

I don't think MSG will instantly mean higher calorie? The cals in Chinese comes from all the oil they cook it with!!! But there's a chance that a business not using MSG will be buying better quality ingredients and making their own sauces rather than using packets? Which will be healthier but not neccesarily lower cal. The danger then is that they load up on extra yummy stuff to boost the flavour you lose by cutting MSG!!!

How has the no MSG affected your weight today? I had a very small chinese meal with an old friend last week, and even though I genuinely didn't have much (not even a whole plate full in total), I was 3lbs heavier the next morning, and it took DAYS to flush it through. I'm thinking it was down to the sodium...
