Christmas Decorating Ideas

I really want to go all out with my Christmas Decorations this year, want to make the house look really nice inside and out, does anyone have any ideas or hints ?, really want it to look tasteful, thinking of traditional colour schemes etc, we live in the middle of no-where so I am thinking Christmas Tree outside etc etc, have no idea where to start though. Me and hubby not had a good year this year and would love to make everything extra special - x

well i love having lights around me ceiling,u can always wrap tinsel around the wire,i hang them up with cup hooks looks fab,have you thought about white roap lights out in garden they look good too...

what a lovely idea, I'm a real bar humbug and don't even put the cards up and last year i didn't even bother with a big tree I got a mini habitat one that you just plug in and it only stands about 30 cm high!
I have to dress up as a fairy for my work christmas party and i think I've had enough of Christmas by the time it finally gets here
