    Hi all I'm sure I've read somewhere that we shouldn't have any caffeine in the first couple if days whilst getting into ketosis!

    Does anyone know why this is and are we still ok having coke zero, seen as that is full of caffeine?

    With some people it does affect ketosis in the first week or so but in some it doesn't. Personally it didn't affect it for me, when I did Cambridge for the very first time I lost a stone the first week and couldn't have stuck to it without all those black coffees!

    I have just started again after losing the weight and then putting it back on again during pregnancy. At the minute I'm adding a sweetener and some skimmed milk to coffee but I plan to cut the sweetener next week and the milk the following week.

    I'm almost positive that each time in the past I've done s&s I had coffee and it never bothered me but I thought I'd try and do it to the book this time round! Pretty sure citric acid didn't bother me either but again I don't want to risk it so will stick to coke zero! I'm managing on black decaf with a sweetener I couldn't cut that but milk doesn't bother me! I'm on day 2 day 3 tomorrow so might try a coffee Sunday see how I get on thanks for the info :)

    It's a good idea to stick to the book as it will keep u from straying I suppose... Urggh I can't drink black coffee with sweetener :)
