I am new to all this so i do realise that today was a bit rubbish in the fact i missed my 1/3 superfree food for lunch as i completely forgot! And i had no idea about the high syns for flour! But for a while i guess it is just a learning process. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas i'd love to hear about them...like flour substitutes or if i've listed items as free and they isn't!

Hi and welcome :) was it a shop bought waffle?

Try instant mash as a thickener for soups/sauces although I do find if you simmer for long enough they tend to thicken up enough. Good luck!
