Decisions...decisions...to refeed or not to refeed...

As some of you know, I have a family wedding at the end of June. The plan was initially to be near/at goal and refeed for a week before to allow myself to have a few drinks & relax after months on LT. Well, things didn't go to plan, and even if I lose my 'average' 2lb a week until the week before my wedding, I'll still be over a stone from my goal. :(

I found it really hard to get back on track after my last refeed, so am now thinking I should just barrel on with the diet- not drink on the day, have a small meal during the reception, and carry on 100% the next day.

My 'excuse' for not drinking would be believable if I drove to the wedding & took my 4yr old- I'd have to leave early-ish to take her home if she came? I was really looking forward to having a 'normal'occasion, but don't know if I could bear it meaning I'd have to be on LT for a few months longer??....:wave_cry::confused::(

What to do...what to do....:sigh:

Personally after having to refeed for the Moonwalk, I would stick with the LT through the wedding. I purposely didn't refeed properly to make sure that I had plenty of carbs to see me through the 13 miles and I put on 7lbs overnight!!!! I restarted again Monday and as of this morning I have shifted the 7lbs, but I'm kind of down because I feel like it's been a waste of two weeks on this diet with no real nett weight loss. Also the food and drinks that I had really didn't taste as good as I thought they would.

Well said Lou. I would definately advise to stick 100% to the total LT replacements until you are the size/weight you want to be. No-one will give a monkeys if you are NOT drinking/eating anything, they may protest and give you all kinds of reasons to eat/drink...then they will promptly move on to another subject...BUT....you know the reason you are on LT, you made a 100% commitment to yourself to see it through. Can you imagine how bombed you would feel if you found going back to full meal replacement, after refeeding, an impossible task???

I know! After my last 'break', I found it very hard to get back on track 100%, even now I have weak moments, though I've nearly completed my 2nd week of 100% no picking? I wasted a few weeks because my losses were lower than they could have been.
Then I have people saying 'Oh, but you don't need to lose anymore, you look great' etc. etc. My goal is 9 1/2 stone. I've NEVER been that weight- EVER. My lightest was 10 1/2 stone about 15-odd years ago, and everyone thought I looked great then, but I'd like to get a bit lower if I can, so I have a bit of 'lee-way' for holidays, occasions, etc.? I'm 11 1/2 now. If I do lose the 1/2 stone or so before the wedding, I'll still have 1 1/2 to go to get to my goal? But am I setting my goal too low? I don't know...

Oh, and no-one except my hubby & Mum know I'm doing LT?....

I would stick to LT 100% if it were me. i'm sure I'd find it hard going back to LT after refeeding.

I think with LT we have to be self-centred about this. You're doing this for you, you're doing it to achieve your goals - nobody else's and once other people know what you're doing they will not care at all. Especially at something like a wedding where let's face it there are far more important things going on for everyone else to think about rather than you not eating. Don't mean that to sound harsh, just think if you've already struggled once with refeed and getting back on LT 100% that there's a danger it may happen again.

bottom line is you can still have a fabulous day without food and drink, and we really all need to stop caring about what other people say about LT and us dieting in general - we're doing this for US and so long as hubby and mum support you then that's the main thing.

Yup i would say stick with LT throughout the wedding.

Take the car and your little girl and bam there is your excuse if your not up for telling people that you are on LT...

Think about it, for that one night you may have to stay on lt an exra week or whatever - is it really worth it? You can go out and socialise and not eat and drink, takes some willpower but people do it, i have done it - really its not that big of a deal once you are out aslong as the company is great :)

good luck whatever you decide though irish :)

I definately could do it, though I would like to eat, drink & be merry for once! LOL! Maybe I'll see how I get on the next few weeks (WI tomorrow am) and decide then?
We have a weekend away in September that I could have as my 'normal' weekend? It's a seisun in Dublin (yearly event) that involves people from the UK & all over the south that I won't have seen in a year, so I'd LOVE to be at target by then and see their jaws drop! LOL!
At the minute I'm definately leaning towards sticking at it & having a fun (sober) day out with my princess? Hmm....
