Detoxing with SnS

Hi Kira :wavey:

I spotted your diary here while musing my next move. The title drew me in and then I saw it was your thread - I was just thinking a detox would be good. Yes, you do know me. :) You started a diary here for a new start - I rebranded completely (though the flower theme continues!) and started a diary in WeMITTs. :D I'd love to say it's done the trick but I still weigh a tonne despite being poorly most of the time (I'm obviously still eating enough calories somehow ).

I keep thinking about having another bash at a VLCD, though I think Kate would have a fit if I suggested it. For a while there I thought I might be dairy intolerant so it was out of the question, but having gradually included more food groups again (I went on an exclusion diet for a while as my whole digestive system threw a wobbly from all the stress I went through earlier this year) I think it might be ok. I dunno. I really don't know what to do any more.

Glad the new job in London is going well. I'm also in London 3 days a week (when I'm not travelling all over the place - my life still involves many train trips :)).

How's DS number 2 doing at school now? Is he ok after all the drama a few months back?

Anyway, glad to see you're getting to grips with SnS and it's doing the trick. Hang on tight - it's so worth it to feel better about yourself. xx

Hello!!! Lovely you've dropped by and I think a re-brand is a very good idea as it can give one a complete fresh start. I did contemplate that but decided just starting a new thread was easier and would hopefully work for me.

Settled in London and thankfully I only have to commute every other week though I can switch to weekly if I wantd or needed to. Youngest son has settled in well into weekly boarding and the move at Easter to the junior part of the school was the best thing ever for him and removing him from the environment seemed to work.

The downside of the London move has been the socialising which involved food and drink and the drinking was getting silly hence I decided the detox was the only way I was going to stop. So day 9 and I am doing ok. I'm having salads with protein and will allow for the odd meal with no carbs so I'm not allowing myself to get hung up on "I've cheated or failed" if I have some other than a pack. So really using the approach that helped me in sep/oct 2012 when I made allowances for certain social events and got straight back on the packs and I think it will work albeit with a slower loss. Happy with that. Just need to maintian enough control that I can then maybe introduce food but not overeat.

Drop me a line when you have decided what approach you want to take. I'm sure whatever decision you make Kate will support you even though she may initially roll her eyes I'm sure :) I do enough eye rolling at myself anyway when I re -start yet another diet or not diet or vlcd!

I think weekends are the hardest times on a VLCD so well done x

Day 10! Wow! I survived the weekend! Only just though! No weigh in today.

Just catching up with your new Diary Kira,
Well done on getting to day 10, we both know VLCD aren't as easy as we would like, if they were no one would be over weight.

Did you go ahead with ordering any Exante products ? I tried it after the wedding a few years ago but as you know Cambridge is the only thing that works for me although the exante products were fine :)

Hope you've had a good day and I shall keep dropping by x x x

Hello lovelies! Eurgh! Hate Monday's at the best of times but especially when I do the commute from North East to London on the 0704 hours train! Even travelling First Class doesn't make it any better! I was at my desk by 10:15 this morning which is nrilliant considering I only got up at 5.45am! I did cut it fine catching train though! Anyway I always feel I need to work later because I didn't get in by 9 so I over compensate by staying really late and of course I don't get paid anymore and nor do I get a medal!

moan over! Day 10 done and simply because I was so busy cramming in everything to make up for the fact I arrived a bit later than I would normally! Sadly still loads more stuff to do tomorrow and I doubt I'll ever fully clear the decks!

Angel I still haven't ordered the Exante packs ... I've enough SnS products to last me a a couple of weeks at a stretch I think but I'm still feeling u decided of which vlcd to do? I did like CWP but it seems so hardcore with just soups and shakes and bars and no meal packs? Mmh got to decide something soon.

Well done on clearing day ten. That is the bonus to being so busy- the day flys by. Personally I wouldn't so cwp because of the whole counsellor thing. I didn't like having one. I can't remember if you did though and if it helped? I also don't think the cost is justified, maybe 5 years ago, but there is so much competition, and like you said many of them offer a greater range of products / I'm surprised they haven't become more reasonably priced but I suppose you are paying for the counsellor so brings it back to same question of whether having one helped much x

Day 11 and decided not to weigh as I didn't get up at my usual time and I have to weigh roughly around the same time bit of an obsessive OCD thing I've got about weighing accurately. Sad I l know:)

youre rright Lara about CWP I don't really want the has,e of a counsellor and I di have one the first time I did CWP years back. I did like the tetras as easy to use. I think I will stick with sns for nor and then orde a pack of Exante products just to try them. Hoping for a busy day again as it makes it so much easier to get through.

Good luck for day 11 Kira.
I fully agree on the weighing in at certain times.
I won't weigh today as like you I have a bit of a OCD routine and I can't now do that this morning so I will check my weight Wed or Thur, we all have out strange things but if it works for us then it works lol.

07.04 from Newcastle, I'm trying to think if that's the Express Flying Scotsman ? ( one of our fastest journey, good choice )

I did CWP a few years ago but I think there's more variety at cheaper prices on other VLCDs. Hope today goes fast for you x

Hey hun well done so far :) woop woop ur in the rite mind frame so yaay and ur soo rite busyness helps :)....and im exactly the same as u lol with the weighing issue tooo lol has to be early mrning rond 7ish pretty much as soon as iv been to the bathroom lol i have to weigh with as lil or nothing on to see the scales lol the later i leave it in the day the wrse it usually is so leave it completely lol...hope u have anther busy day too :) x

Day 11 survived it! Can you believe there were biscuits and Krispy Kreme right next to me! Someone's birthday and desk next to me is empty so they are left there! Argh! Never actually ever had a kk though I've had an ordinary doughnut from local bakery in the past. Luckily I was not tempted because they looked so fake?!

anfel opi opi think the 0704 is the flying Scotsman express as it comes from Edinburgh Waverley stops at Newcastle only & goes straight to kx. Don't think it stops at York at all. Anyway my fav train.

Kira I've never had a KK either, we had them on a works buffet lunch when I was last on Cambridge and I just couldn't bring myself to do it, I agree they look very fake. The Newcastle store has been there a couple of years now and I've still not been tempted.

Great will power especially as they were on the very next desk, well done my lovely x x

You can see the KKs being cooked in some stores. Seeing that put me off forever. Greasy artificial junk. Good for you for steering clear of the birthday table x

I've had a few kk doughnuts and have always been disappointed. .. They're really not that nice

Now a sugared jam doughnut. ..YES!! Ha

Great work avoiding birthday food you are unstoppable!

Ooh first class check you out girlfriend!

Hope you get the scale routine in this morning and are pleasantly surprised :)

Morning! Yes so glad I didn't have KK and Lou you're right a nice name doughnut would've tempted me more!

day 12 and I still haven't weighed. Yes worrying given I'm such an obsessive daily weigher when I get on a roll! Routine is off kilter so if I can't weigh at around y usual time I get myself in a tizz and impatient which usually leads to a wobble. So better that I dont. I'll have to plan ahead for weekend as I've a girly weekend but it will involve a lot of walking I'm sure and as they're both runners may drag me along for a run! No bad thing except I've still not got into the running for fear of injury and the Pf flaring up which it does even when I walk a lot. So may stick with walking and resisting. I'm sure I can have a great time won't out drinking a load and if I don't make a big thing of it they proa boy wouldn't wven notice!

I've had a few Krispy Kremes in the past and have never finished one as they werent that nice. Would much rather have a plain sugar donut x

I love Krispy kremes! Haha! They're so light and not greasy or stodgy like other doughnuts. Welldone in resisting as I know for a fact I would have failed! Have a fab day kira! Xxx
