Diary of a Slimming 20 year old.

    Hello Mini Mins!!

    My name is Francesca and I am on a mission this year to sort myself out and get skinny. Eager to be slimmer for my 21st. Never really noticed how out of hand my weight had gotten until I saw a photograph someone had taken of me.

    Would be nice if someone wanted to join me on this slimming mission of mine? :) xx

    I am loving SW!! so much yummy food to eat and not even feel naughty about it, it's brilliant for me because I love pasta so it's nice being able to eat it and not feel bad about it. Did it briefly last year and did well on it but then put it all back on, boo hoo. So I'm back on it for 2014 and not messing about this time.

    Aww thanks. I lost 4 stone between 2011 and 2012 but last year was on and off plan constantly never on it for more than a couple of weeks and it creeped back up until I'd put nearly a stone and half back on! :( Determined to finally reach target this year.

    Good luck this week, when's your weigh in? Are you attending a group or doing it at home?

    I will join! I was the same say a photo from New Year's Eve and though oh my god !!!
    First slimming world class tomorrow dreading the first weigh in

    You can do it!! it's so easy to creep back on, such a slippery slope. I'm just doing it at home, you can find everything you need to know online and minimins in particular so I don't see why not. I bought some of the books off ebay last year so I've got those as well. Do you do the same?? xx

    Yeah I've never been to a group as I don't think I would stay to Image Therapy as that sort of thing kind of makes me cringe lol so I refuse to pay to get weighed. I've had relatives/friends go to group before so I borrowed books from them when I first started and rely on Minimins and Google for the rest. Now I pretty much know the plan inside out, I just google the odd syn values. I go to Boots on a Sunday morning to get weighed as I don't trust my scales at home. They give me a different reading every time I step on them even if it's only 5 minutes later! Do you do red/green/ee?

    Yeah haha, a lot of my work colleagues go to group and all I've heard about the image part and it's so cringeworthy. Anything you need to know you can google. I'm doing ee at the moment because it seemed the easiest to follow alone, and it's been working nicely so far but if it slows down I think I'll look into down the red or green days. What do you do?? :) xx

    I do a mixture of all 3 depending on what I've got planned for that day. EE most often just because I find it easiest to think of meals that both me and OH will enjoy. I do love red and green though as it means extra healthy extras which are my favourite parts haha!

    Breakfast -- 2 Satsumas & cup of black tea.

    Lunch -- Jacket Potatoe with Baked beans

    Dinner - Massive bowl of spaghetti and bol, just extra lean mince and some tomatos, plain but thats how i like my food. all syn free.

    Snacks -- 1 x muller light yoghurt, 1 satsuma.

    Another syn free day. Been going syn free every day this week, will this effect things?? should I be using my syns?? x

    Syns are there to be used. Think the rule of thumb is that you should be using AT LEAST 5 each day. I did found on SW my first time round that I lost more weight on weeks where I used close to all my syns than weeks where I limited them... maybe just coincidence but I never worry about using them. In fact, I could NOT go a day without using them. I love to save them for an evening treat!

    Yes, you are supposed to use the Syns to stop your metabolism going into starvation mode and throttling your weight loss. I couldn't manage without my biscuit and cuppa before bedtime and save 5 syns for that :)
    And oh my lord, I HATE image therapy.... I'm doing this online, and the image therapy mails get deleted unread! Actually, watching Biggest Loser videos on Youtube motivates me more than anything else, oddly enough. Good luck with your weight loss journey <3

    Another good day of eating really today.

    Breakfast -- 1 x banana and 1 x muller light yoghurt.

    Lunch -- Salad (pasta, sweetcorn, ham, cucumber.) and light mayo (1.5 syns)
    Mugshot (syn free)

    Dinner -- lettuce, cucumber, piece of chicken breast and cottage cheese and light mayo (1.5 syns)

    no snacks today. and all I've drunk is plenty of water and two teas which were black.

    My mum is saying that I may not be eating enough to follow slimming world properly, she says that the days where she indulged in more of the free foods and syns were the weeks of her biggest losses. Has anyone else found this??

    Yes, I found the same, I lost more in the weeks I used all my syns than in the weeks I didn't. Trouble is, it gets harder to lose weight the closer you get to target, and if you're not using your syns now, you won't have anything to cut back on later.

    Deffo used all my syns today in chocolate so that shouldn't be a problem for this week, gonna get weighed in the morning and pray for not too much damage. Still can't get my head round being allowed chocolate. xx
