Was wondering if counsellors from outwith my area will be allowed to take me on. There are only 2 CDCs in my area, one who I went to but didn't gel with. When I tried to transfer, the other one told me I should stick with the one I started with, I really don't want to see her again. Is it against CDC rules to take on clients from areas where there are CDCs already.

You can transfer to another counsellor anywhere you want if they are willing to see you. You don't have to stick with the first one if you are unhappy with her.

    Thanks for your replies.

The reason I want to transfer is I felt that the counsellor wasn't offering any support and was their to dole out packs and not much more. The only time she got in touch with me was to find out if I would be seeing her soon to order more stuff. I don't want someone on the end of the phone constantly but the occasional call or email to see how I'm doing and keep me motivated would be great. Truthfully, after reading this website I felt I was being short changed as all the CDCs on here seem to be very motivational, I think if I had that I would have found it much easier to stick with the program.

I am seriously thinking about going back to SSing but only if its with another counsellor.

Hi there i like mine as a person and have become quite friendly with her but to be honest as a councellor she to just dishes the product out. She never weighs me or really gives me any support as such. Ok as second time around i have failed a few times and this is a further attempt she can obviously see that i am nowhere near my reccomended bmi so she is not being negligent in that way for example letting me carry on when i am at bmi. I just find it odd that she does`nt chat more to me about the diet or insist on weighing me to chart my progress.
