DOCUSATE SODIUM - anyone taken these for constipation??

hi, i've been prescribed docusate sodium by my doc as i havent been to the toilet for over a week now after starting CD, i've looked it up on the web and it says it can take 1-3 days for relief!! the reason i'm panicking is that i'm out all day on saturday and worried that it'll take that long to work!! i've taken two, wondering whether to take another quick one to push things along??

any advice would be brill thanks!!

Hi ya,
I didnt have these but I did have dulcolax which is probably similar. Although I found these worked... I had the worst tummy pains in the night. They kicked in with me about 6 hours after.
I also tried some natural fibre powder that my CDC gave me... Have you tried that?
As soon as I went on the bars ... Have been to toilet every day

hey thanks for that, I ended up with a suppository in the end, eek! have bought psyllium husks now though so will be getting on those asap!!

Its been about 3 days for me without going to the toilet. does this affect weight loss?

i didnt go for a week!! i still lost 7lbs though, the thing is when ur on shakes, u dont really build much up in ur bowels so i doubt it'll make a massive difference although keep an eye on how long ur taking to go because i wish i hadnt left it so long to start taking proper fibre, i had to use a suppository for me to go before i could start taking fibre, not ideal!
