DOING SW FROM HOME???

Im scared ha ha

I think everyone has that initial fear at being able to eat so much (specially if you've been on really restrictive diets to lose weight before) but it's true! It helps boost your metabolism which is how you lose weight on SW, not just starving yourself so you lose water weight and go into starvation mode! :)

Think I'm really beginning to 'get' salads! Had one for lunch just now and it was YUM! Has really filled me up as well, I couldn't finish it! That's a first for me :)

Beetroot and Nando's Chicken Salad.jpg

It had lettuce, spinach, beetroot, chicken breast marinaded in Nando's sauce (0.5 syns) and a tweak of boursin for HexA! :D Also tried out some Hellman's fat free vinaigrette but it wasn't what I expected... Not bad, just a bit cringy!

Hi guys, can I join you all??

I'm starting SW from home on Friday (going food shopping tomorrow night!) and I would LOVE to lose a stone in time for wedding which is 8 weeks away - aarrgghh!!!!

Any tips/advice/essential buys for a newbie? Xx

Essential buys:
Mullerlight yoghart
Alpen Light Bars
Frylight
Loads of fresh fruit and veg (For me birdseye steamfresh bags are FAB to get a quick superfree with your meal)
Mugshots - if you like them!
Pasta n Sauce
Nandos Peri Salt! (Great to marinade fish prawns chicken - anything really!!)

I have a stash of all these all the time!

Essential advice:
Follow peoples food diaries! Great way to get to grips with how the different plans work! And never be afraid to ask us questions! Everyone here is super friendly and always willing to help!
Plan your week or days in advance - less likely to fall off the wagon, and you can refer back to it if you start to struggle a little!

Welcome! Course you can join us. A stone in 8 weeks is do-able :)

Can I just ask - I was going to use my hex b for brekkie and maybe have the weetabix - do I need to have 1/3 super free food with it or this only when I have free food?

Sorry for the ridiculous question but I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly! x

Not a ridiculous question! No you don't have to have a third superfree as it is a healthy extra meal :) feel free to eat some fruit with it anyway though!

Thank you!

One last question - I LOVE the Greek lemon muller yoghurts in the little pots - any idea how many suns these are? x

Hi hun, glad you decided to join us!! I couldn't be where I am now without my little minimins family :)

Shop essentials for me - fruit (berries are great as a super speed food) raspberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, strawberries, bananas, oranges, melon. I like to snack on carrot batons. Fresh fruit and veg can be really expensive tho, I go to aldi for mine or buy frozen veg, just as good. Lean meats, ww sausages, el mince, pork chops, alpen light bars, muller light yoghurts, ff fromage frais/yoghurt, wholemeal rolls (60g is hexb) or small loaf 400g, sweetner, fry light, balsamic vinegar, lots of spices, cadbury light choc mousse (3 syns). Just a few to go with!

Sent from my HTC Desire S using MiniMins

Thanks all for the lovely welcome and the advice on what to buy - I'm going to write a little list for my shopping trip to aldi tomorrow night! xx

I make big pots of syn free soup with superfree veg. You can have it for lunch or as a starter at dinner or as an evening snack and it really helps fill you up and adds lots of superfree to your day.

I'm really looking forward to starting the plan I. Friday!!!! I expect I'll be on here lots In the build up to the wedding! x

Thanks for that Laura!! You`re right about the gain :) feel a bit silly for putting it off!! :)

You`d think I`d have got the hang of the various plans by now!! Just find EE the easiest :)

Grannie if you've had a gain from being off plan you can usually claw it back quite fast with a few red days, so maybe try planning a couple in the next 2/3 days and you should see it drop back down quite fast xx

Eugh, had a good day until now but now I'm hungry and tired and feel ill so it's seeming like it'd be so much easier to just eat crap again! :(

Welcome miss galaxy! Lots of good tips there :) get some big potatoes too as jacket potatoes are fab, really filling and easy to add lots of Superfree salad/veg too.

Quorn is a good one if you don't mind veggie stuff as it saves lots of cals/sat fat which none of us want :)

Reduced fat cheese and extra light flora are usually pretty essential in our house too. Some tips some of us have found, even tho you can have mugshots/pasta n sauces it's way nicer and better for u to make up your own batches of pasta with passata and veg, then you're getting Superfree with it. Weetabix we eat loads! Melon and strawberries too.

Lean meats, I tend to buy gammon joints and whole chickens then cook then on a Sunday so we have cold meats in the fridge way cheaper (and nicer.. ) than packets of sliced meats.

Xx

Don't do it Laura! Stay strong as ultimately the bad foods will stop you getting better quicker xxx

I feel really rough, and can't be bothered to cook so just ordered a pizza - oops. I know it's astronomical in syns but it is the ultimate comfort food - back on plan tomorrow!
