DOING SW FROM HOME???

Hi ladies and lurking gentlemen ;)

Wondering if any of you hvae tried the 5:2 diet, there been a lot about it in the news and hubs has been wondering about it, he'll last about 5 hours then either give in or decide he knows better and you can have more than 600 cals...

Just wondering what everyone else thought about it or had / know anyone who had tried doing it... I'm not one for fad diets but the science behind it intrigues me
 
I'm quite tempted to try it - was discussing it with some friends the other day who've had good results with it! Sounds way too good to be true though...
 
Thats exactly my thoughts Laura but looking on various forums there might be something in it, not looking for miracles but if it bumps my losses a little I'd be happy..

Might do a couple of weeks and making sure I'm not over eating on non fast days and see what happens, kind of keeping to SW portion control syn values etc in between fast days...
 
Just made a baked cheesecake which is lush. Here is the recipe

140gr light philly (2 HEXA) or 12 syns - if prefered low fat cottage cheese
2 tbs FF fromange fraise or low fat youghrt
1 egg+ 1 egg white
5 tsp sugar (5 syns) or use sweetner
Handful of Blackberries or any soft fruit you like (keep some for decorating)
28 gr flour (4.5 syns)

Mix cheese & Ff tigether and whisk into a smooth mixture
Add flour, sugar and egg and whisk until all mixed
Put Blackberries in and mix
Pour into a cake tin (greased with frylight)
Bake on 200 for 30 minutes
Turn off oven and let it stand (in the oven) for 30 minutes
Serve with Blackberries
Serves 4 - Each portion (1/2 HEXA, 2.5 syns) or 5.5 syns if not using cheese as HEXA or 4 syns if using sweetner

Cream crackers 1.5 syns this is brilliant stuff. Cheease cake looks lovely.
 
Afternoon ladies, had a top girlie night in Devon, I soooo wanna move down there tho. It's crazy comparing house prices, friend has a gorgeous cottage, proper wooden beams, open fire etc, a real lazy Devon town and cheaper than ours in Bristol, crazy. Anyhow, totally blew sw! Had pizza, chips, garlic bread, sweets and lots of pints lol really needed it tho. Won't hit target next week now but maybe next week, oh well!!

Jen glad that you've had a lovely time. I agree house prices are much cheaper in Devon but don't forget you live in 10th biggest city in the UK - also capital of South West.

Morning all. Right need to get back with the programme now. Just had a look at scales, damage is 3lb gain since Friday!! I know it's not true weight but now seems soooo blimin far away from target, yet again. Ah well, I had a good weekend so just part of living I suppose! Strict red days this week.

Jenny, I'm the same, been clawing it back since my (again) too flexible weekend! Scales looking ok this morning for tomorrow's WI .. FINGERS crossed!

Feeling v frustrated as all my leg pain which has been fairly manageable lately has flared up big time :( specialist on 22nd, so hoping for some answers.. not sure what flares it up but it does seem to increase when I become more active, been doing mega house sorting/ furniture moving. So now with a house upside down, I shall be hobbling slowly trying to put it right today.
Also need to plan meals and shop, so I need to remind myself of all the lovely food ideas I've got from you all!

Charl hope all calm there again this morning

Lou have they tested you for nerve pain if it flares up from time to time... my back and shoulder are exactly the same been like it for years, shoulder and arm have been playing up badly for weeks now waited months for a physio appointment finally it comes for Thurs this week and guess what arm is 80% better again this morning.. hopefully I'll get him to check my spine as the anethietist at the local hospital is pretty sure my spine is actually twisted which is causing the pain.

Back on plan today anyway and still debating whether to do a couple of 5:2 diet fast days this week too, can't see it doing any harm, might even get rid of some bloat.. going to see if I can have a bread / pasta free few days until friday too, see if I can get rid of some of this bloatedness..
 
Oh ladies which WW sausages are the 1/2 syn ones, not a lover of them but needs must can't stand those quorn things any longer and don't think LM free ones really wil go with a breakfast ;)

Hey Li, I am hoping these are things the specialists will look into? Ive been up and down with it for nearly 2 years now, I have had loads of physio/accupuncture and paid for sports massage, neither of which have had long term/permanent results. The Doc's done blood tests and X-rays which are all clear, so orthopaedic specialist next. I go thru phases of writing pain diarys so I can try and see a pattern, but I have no idea, and though the physio and massage gave some relief, its not proven to really help.. It started about 10 weeks after I started outdoor running, during which time I did a half marathon. Before that I was really fit, going to the gym 3 times a week and kick boxing. Now I just feel like a big lethargic blob! Ive finally given up paying for gym membership as every time I went it would hurt more :(
Its so typical when that happens and things get better just before appt! Hope the physio can help though, they are usually pretty thorough :)

My lower back is really giving me problems since i did Shred last week - i did some sciatica stretching this morning and am hoping this will start to ease it if i do it morning and night. Really want to do Shred 2/3 times this week so i need it to go away!
 
Li, hubby wasn't keen on me going but I made him understand that I needed some 'me' time! He did a good job whilst I was gone so may try a 2 night stay next time lol

Charl, def sort some girly time out. Can you plan it for when the boys are with their dad and go away somewhere. Did me the world of good and did actually missed hubby so not a bad thing! Hugs x x
