Evil weevil's diary - 5st gone!

Day 23 today, 17lb down already. I started the diet saying I wouldn't bother to weigh, but I'm actually weighing every 2-3 days at the moment & updating myfitnesspal & here with every loss, but doing my official weekly weigh in on fridays.

I love all of the shakes & soups, don't use bars regularly as I only got 1 bumper pack out of 3 with them in to discourage me from using them too often - they are only for when I am truly too busy to take a minute and make a shake up with tap water, or will be out of the house away from tap water for ages. I am mostly on TS, but occasionally replace a pack with a couple of eggs as I get free eggs every 3 weeks when the farmer brings me hay for the horses and I need to use them up!

I fill up a 2L bottle of water every morning and ensure that I drink that plus 2-3 cups of herbal tea plus extra water with my shakes as an absolute minimum, but usually put away 4 litres.

I've looked back at my lipotrim diary from 4.5 years ago and I know that at day 26 I had lost 21lb on that, so I'm not far behind my progress back then.

Clothes wise I am comfortably back into my size 18 work trousers from my size 20s being tight, my size 18 combats are very comfy indeed, my size 20 jeans are in the charity shop bag as they are way too baggy.

I am trying a new tactic of wearing a bra 24/7 to see if that helps my boobs to be a bit less yeuch when I get down to a decent BMI.

Goal is 8-8.5 stone, not sure yet. 7 12 is tempting as that would be a 100lb loss but I'm not sure it's that important!

I have my year planned out as TS until 15 July, WS while I work away for 7 weeks, TS for 4 weeks til I go on holiday, low carb on holiday, TS until goal or end of year, whichever comes first.

18lb down now ;) went to the loo first thing this morning so thought I'd have a sneaky peek on the scales :D

My being back at an 'overweight' BMI happens in 39lb time - I would love that to be by my friend's wedding on 21 July, if I can lose 3lb a week it will but even if I don't quite manage it, any weight loss will be better than being as big as I am now!

Cheers!

Was invited for an indian takeaway tonight by my bezzie mates. They have recently had an awful death in the family, and need to talk so I'm not going to avoid socialising with them, nor make them feel awkward by not eating when they do. Also, I figure eating with them will help me learn to make good food choices. I chose a mixed grill tandoori (2 big lumps of chicken, 6 big lumps of lamb and a king prawn) which myfitnesspal reckons was 700kcal but google reckons 600 - I've gone with the higher number anyway. I had only had one banana shake today, so total of 900kcal. We then all went for a lovely brisk walk once dinner had gone down, for around 45 minutes which allegedly burnt 215 calories so I'm only 85 over what I would have had on TS. Well worth every single calorie, it was lovely and we had a really nice evening together. They were very complimentary about my weight loss - I've dropped a dress size since they saw me last week and I felt good :)

Checked this morning and no immediate damage done by last night, wheee! The cups of tea kept me up til 4am though :( I am way too sensitive to caffeine now, will have to take a box of peppermint tea round to theirs for future use as the kettle is never off there. I'm off to ikea today and getting them some pretty napkins so will pop round there with those and a box of tea tonight.

We used to live together so they are brilliant, well used to my weird ways, very accepting of me VLCDing (yes they invite me round to eat but only ketogenic meals, and don't try to sabotage me!) and still have a few bits and pieces of mine around the place anyway - more tea will be of little inconvenience.

Wow well done so far ur doing fabulous and total credit for making healthy food choices around social events :) x

Hmm, I've had a hungry tummy today - possibly it re-contracting after being stuffed with meat last night. Staved it off with soup and am now snuggling back up in bed for an hour to warm up!

Oh, ought to note: on comparing nutritional profiles of lipotrim with exante, I want to try lowering the carb count a little as I think I am just on the cusp of ketosis rather than comfortably in it. I am going to do this by replacing one shake a day with half a can of tuna or a boiled egg, and taking a berocca multivitamin to make up for missing out on the third pack. If I feel like being scientific about it at a later date, I will do a month on TS and then a month on this and see what the difference is, if any, but I probably won't get round to that, it's more of a gut feeling thing. Some days will still be 3 pack days because of whatever I'm getting up to, but I'm not going to stress over it.

Today was day one of this regime :)

Do you use the disolvable berroca? I used to take one everyday but now I'm wondering if there's sugar or anything else in it that is a no-no.

well done with your losses so far xx

Effervescent ones here - they are 5.25 kcal each so can't be many carbs. It does have citric acid, but in such small amounts it doesn't have any effect on me (it's not the same as glugging 2L of diet coke a day like I used to!)

Another lb gone overnight :) just going to have some tuna for breakfast and then shake the day away at work until midnight. Week of late shifts should be easy enough to manage, handily I have no nights booked until mid May :D (last set I did was on my days 1/2/3, and next will be day 59/60/61/62 - it's usually every three weeks).

Have a good day everyone!

Found out yesterday I have to work in Nottingham tomorrow, so flying over tonight and back early Friday morning (yuk). I've got lots of packs ready, will have meat/eggs for breakfast with colleagues in the hotel, 2 shakes during the day, then try to manage without a shake until I get to normal work at 10am on Friday. Should finish around 6pm then be able to have some tuna at home, but if I'm struggling I have extra packs so will be able to have one.

Best be off, have to go stuff 2 days' worth of haynets for my horses!

Argh, scuppered! Had breakfast which went right through me :( despite just being scrambled eggs and bacon with the fat cut off.

Lunch was provided (a very rare occurrence so completely unexpected) so I chose a fish fillet and a heap of broccoli, and I thought I would be alone in the hotel tonight but everyone else is staying too so I will be socialising.

I have looked at the restaurant menu already and decided that I will have plain grilled chicken breast with a spinach, rocket and watercress salad with olive oil and balsamic dressing on the side so I can control how much.

Plugged into MFP it's not bad at all for the day and I am pleased with myself for making good food choices.

I am readying myself for a hungry day tomorrow after all this food, thankfully I will be at work so should be distracted enough, and will weigh in on Saturday as I won't be home until tomorrow night.

Never mind - onwards and downwards! I will be back on plan for a good while now :)

Well done Weevil - not easy juggling hotels and work with a VLCD is it? Sounds like you are making really good choices, and that will be a great foundation for maintaining your goal weight

......which we WILL get to, together!! :D

No, not easy at all! Working at base I have pretty much sussed, and hotel on my own would be fine but it would be frowned on for me to hide in my room when there's a group up for a good meal and catch up.

OOH I never said on here - my line for work ATM is that I'm on cupasoups for cheapness. One nosey cheeky b*nt who was asking me why I was drinking so much soup said 'oh well it'll help you lose weight too' after I said it was to save money, the cheeky feckin' cow! I was too stunned by her rudeness even to reply, but she's off the Xmas card list! Yes I know I do need to lose weight but how DARE she!

I've been pleasantly surprised by how much food I can eat and stay very low calorie & carb, definitely bodes well for future eating. There is nearly always a healthy option, I just need to make the decision to go with it and channel a skinny person. I just love the convenience of exante though, no supermarkets or fridge picking. Definitely committed to the plan for this year, we will definitely both get to meet our skinny selves before too long!

hiya, I am enjoying reading your diary :)
yes how dare that woman hint abour losing weight!!!
well done on making good choices.

Thanks :D

Back in to the swing of things today. My digestive tract was very unsettled all day and culminated in an almighty comedy gaseous eruption (!) when I got home, but 1 shake & 1 soup so far today and I'm looking forward to my 'back on the bandwagon' hot chocolate in half an hour or so.

Weighing in tomorrow morning will be interesting...

It's not ever so chocolatey, it has to be said... I just enjoy a warm thick drink. It's nice if you make up some peppermint tea first and make it with that.

Phew! Weighed in this morning (a day late) and had still lost the 4lb I'd lost at my weigh in earlier in the week, hurrah! Nothing big planned now until 19 may which is a friend's 30th, so I've got a month to keep my head down and carry on. No doubt there'll be some socialising with the usual suspects, but I know I can cope with that :D
