I am new to these boards but am finding them really helpful so thanks everyone for all of the comments.

I am a return SW member and have just completed my first week where I have followed the EE plan to the letter. All of my meals have contained at least 1/3 superfree food, I have had between 6-10 syns a day, drunk lots of water but have put on a pound!!!:confused:

Has this happenned to anyone else?

yeah it happened to me!! I gained 1.5, my consultant couldnt explain it just told me to carry on (which i didnt, i had a tantrum and had an "off" week instead!!)

I hope that doesn't happen to me. I've just rejoined SW after having got to my target a couple of years back when I lost 3 stone. I am following the EE as well, if I put on weight I will be really fed up. I lost 6 lbs in my first week when I first joined SW. Weighing day is Tues so will soon find out.

Hi. I remember when WW introduced Core (v similar to EE) a lot of members found that they STS or gained the first week, simply because they were eating more (albeit healthy and on plan) food than they had before they started. Do you think this might be the case for you? If so, it will just be a case of letting your body get used to the new regime.

So much easier to believe when it is about someone else, but if you stick with it you will lose weight. Good luck whichever of the plans you decide to use this week, with any luck you'll see an extra good weight loss next time:) Nat

Please keep going! Your body is in shock at the moment, and if you stick to EE you will have a brilliant loss next week. Did you do your food diary? If so it would be worth getting it checked. Are you eating enough? If you skip meals it will slow you down. If you have started exercising you retain water in your muscles, or you may just be retaining water. Because you can eat loads you don't shed water like you do with a calorie controlled diet.

I gained half a pound in my first week on EE, then lost 3 the following week (and haven't gained since that week either).

Keep at it - if you're still having gains after a few weeks, it might be worth having a word with your consultant or changing plan.

If you liked the EE plan I say stick with it this week ans see how you get on. If you don't like it (and not just in a sulking way because you gained!!) then change now - no point in doing something you don't like.
There are many reasons you can gain in one week as your body adjusts it could be down to what you were doing before you joined. If you went on almighty binge (lets face it who hasn't had a last super before starting a diet plan!!) then that gain could have shown up this week, similarly if you had been eating too little eating normally would cause you to gain but you will lose this week.

Thanks for all of your replies. I have decided to have a green week this week as I know that I managed to lose loads of weight on this plan the last time that I did SW, and I do tend to eats lots of things that would be free on green rather than red. Fingers crossed to a good week this week!!
