Had a bad day and fell off the wagon...

It all started with a milky-way that was left over from leading my youth group. I felt down today, for no apparent reason to be honest. Just one of those days i guess. Anyway, willpower was non-existant and i caved in like a fat kid in a sweet shop. After i had the milky-way i pretty much had the worst attitude going and thought 'to hell with it' and ate everything in sight...

    Toast with butter
    Cadbury's Creme Egg Twister
    Ham Sandwich

That list is just the tip of the iceberg. Unsurprisingly, i feel as sick as a dog now. Serves me b***dy well right. Funny how my binge consists of all the junk food of the day, never hear of anyone saying "ohh i fell off the wagon and binged on lettuce" etc...

Thing is, not one bit of it tasted nice. Chocolate tastes better in my memory than it does in reality. And toast, the one thing i thought would taste like heaven, was nothing to write home about, but i ate it anyway.

To top things off, tomorrow is my WI day...!! Up until today i had been as good as gold, a little CD angel, never slipping up once, or even having a planned day off. Well tomorrow is the start of a new week, i was meant to WI at home, as i only see my CDC every fortnight, so i have a week to redeem myself before i see her again. I don't think i will stand on the scales at home tomorrow, because there isn't a cat in hells chance that i'll have lost weight after todays episode. Better to get myself back into ketosis and try and forget it happened, onwards and downwards...

Every cloud has a silver lining... basically i ate everything today that i've missed not being able to eat, and none of it tasted anywhere near as good as i imagined. I intend to remember that ~ anytime i enviously look at someone devouring some dessert or food that i'd love a bite of, i'll say to myself "it looks better than it tastes", and i can't think of anything else to say other than "nothing tastes as good as being slim feels".

Back on the wagon from now, and i'll have to remember that weight that goes on fast, comes off faster too. Starting from this moment on, i'm back on track, before the fat i've consumed from today sets.

Von .... I could have written that post myself hun. I seem to pig out and then feel disappointment because it didn't taste as good as I expected it to taste!

p.s. was the cadburys twister nice? lol xx

Your weight loss so far has been fantastic, so what if you had a blip, you have found out that the food you thought you were craving actually doesnt taste that nice now anyway. Like you said you have a week to get back into the CD and I'm sure you will be just fine.
Take Care Hun and Good Luck xxx

No, you're not missing out on much...!! Its exactly like a creme egg, only a different shape. I was expecting it to be something wonderful, because i've had to listen everyone in work rave on about how great they are... but they're nothing special, and i'm honestly not just saying that!

Well, i've done it now, no point in mooping, i just have to make sure one bad day doesn't turn into two...

at least your back on the wagon now and thats all that matters and your right food doesnt taste as good as you think it should!

karenO Step away from the chips!

You may have fallen off the wagon but it certainly sounds like you've picked yourself right up again (and learned a few lessons to boot - some of us arent that lucky lol)

You have totally the right attitude and am sure you'll be right back on it in no time

PS whereabouts in Co.Down are you from - thats where i'm from too :D (although i live in Norfolk now)

SO MUCH TO LOSE! Must do it this time

thats the attitude hun,i always say that we all have blips on our journey but its how we deal with it that makes all the difference and you said it,just dont let 1 day turn into 2,3 or 4.
thats my motto to as you will see below anbout nothing tasting as good as slim feels, its true to the core, draw a line under today and think that tomorrow is a new week and a new day,and maybe you should weigh yourself just to see how you go and at least you can rectify it,obviously thats totally up to you hun,i wish you luck for the week and beyond,

Thanks everyone for your replies ~ food is definitely over-rated... as odd as it sounds i'm looking foward to getting back into my shakes tomorrow, just not looking foward to feeling a bit rough until i get myself firmly back into ketosis. :sigh:

KarenO ~ i live in the sticks, Katesbridge direction [outside Banbridge], whereabouts were you from...?

Lollollol guess where i'm from? *drum roll* Banbridge!!!!

What a very small world! I moved away 5 years ago but all my family still there (and my friends too *sob*)

... you didn't see the size of the bowl of them i ate tho... It was enough to feed the 5 thousand. Anyway, you're all right, it was one blip... one blip in 6 weeks is not the end of the world, and it is a journey, i just took a wrong turn today... positive thinking and all that will hopefully get me through it.

Thanks guys for your replies, its great having access to this forum, it really is a life-saver...

As the others have said, its not the end of the world hun, you have realised that things you think you are missing NEVER taste as good as you remember! You've done really well with the weight loss, and you can pick yourself up and get back on it again. No regrets tho hun, cos it won't help, just learn from it and move on. Sending you lots of hugs, support and positive vibes. x x x

I know you feel bad but you really have given me hope that to be honest it wont taste half as nice as i thought it did. I keep getting so fustrated and doesn't help with food menus coming through the door thick and thin.. Even on Sunday the swines!!!!

I even got a leaftet for 1.99 mcdonald meals - I mean please!!! I am dieting, so tempted to take the car and go in there order that filet fish, stuff it in my face (and the fries) and then shout "Stop putting these through my door"

Now you have given me hope that it would be like eating a rubber sole of a boot and that fish and chips my hubbie has secretly hidden ( I can smell it, love him - hiding in the kitchen can't hide the smell) would taste disgusting.

Keep up the great work, great weight loss.

Thanks again everyone, it makes such a difference getting support from you all...

Apia ~ trust me, McDonalds will not taste remotely as good as you imagine! For me, chocolate has always been my weakness and it really didn't taste all that great, or have the silky smooth texture that you imagine it to have. The mind plays tricks on us ~ making us imagine food to be more devine and luxurious than it is in reality. Its kind of like that saying "never meet your hero, because they'll never live up to your expectation".
