From Day One!

#1
I am rather isolated, this diary page is my only form of support so dont be surprised if i post all the time!
First day of Dukan today. Have tried other diets before and have been told that i dont eat enough when on them so i dont lose weight. Havent eaten yet today as just not hungry yet but have had a mug of tea with skimmed milk, no sugar (my usual so nothing new) and some water.
Does anyone know if not eating regularly/not enough will affect Dukan?
I struggle as i am so busy that i genuinely forget to eat and dont eat when im not hungry so breakfast is normally around 11am! Have some lovely fish ready for dinner and some chicken defrosting for later. I think the hardest thing will be feeding my daughter when i cant have any (i adore potato).
But first day begun so here goes!

Welcome and well done in taking the first step. Attack while tough will kickstart your loss and after that you be able to have veggies every other day. Re. the mash, being a stereotypical Irish woman and lover of all things potato, :p celeriac has been my saviour. Boiled up and mashed it has the same texture and comfort factors mashed spud does. Adding in mashed turnips is also yum.

Post away, you'll get loads of help from the great folks on here. :)Xx

Not eating enough can be a problem. You should aim for about 1-1.5g of pure protein (100gr chicken breast has about 23gr protein) per kilo of body weight. Otherwise it might not work. Eat at the same time as your daughter, surely you are feeding her breakfast etc? Just have a yoghurt or a chicken salad instead :) Good luck!

Yogurt is good when you don't feel like eating. I sometimes do a coffee, Splenda, skim milk and raw egg milk shake in the blender which I can sip. You cant taste the egg! It's also a good pick me up after strenuous exercise, as there's about a twenty minute window when the body will use high protein to replenish the muscles you've just been using hard eg after a cycle swim or run.
