From here to inskinnity! My mission to lose 13.5 stone!

Carvery sounds yum! Well done for getting your body magic in despite rain :) good on you!
I think 12.5 syns for a Sub is still worth it- they are so yummy! Is that the syns for all of the different breads? I might have one soon :D gotta love SW for the fact that we can have pretty much anything within reasonable quantities... Havent tried synning pizza yet, can't believe I havent had one all year!

Mmmmm pizza! I haven't had one in 6 weeks, which considering it used to be my favourite meal and I had it at least twice a week is pretty awesome. I don't think I could last a year though! I bet those pizza express ones with the salad in the middle can't be too bad (legerra pizzas?) I'll have to investigate - not for this week though!

And yeah the SW syns calc listed 12.5 for turkey breast 6 inch sub, so I assume it's the same for all the bread types as it doesn't specify. Subway is right next to our local cinema so it makes for a perfect movie night tea, next week though I'm gonna go for the salad. Quite getting used to life without bread now, I used to have IBS type symptoms and these have pretty much stopped since I've cut out the bread (although it could also be down to my better diet!).

Well spotted, Tetris! I've not had a Subway since starting SW so I just assumed that there was a wholemeal option available. I may also email them to raise the issue!

Well done for staying within syns even with an unplanned meal out in there - don't you just love SW!

I hope all goes well tomorrow x

Thanks Bev! Yep that's what I love so much about SW, its so easy to eat out and have options that wont ruin the plan. Plus with the online syns calculator app on my phone it only takes a minute to tot up the potential damage!

---

I'm currently waiting another 10 minutes till its after midnight and then Jet 2 will let me check in online for our holiday flights! *excited*

Yeah, everyone email subway about a wholemeal option!! Let's get it happening! :D
There is a subway right next door to my cineworld too- ha! Do you have an unlimited card? They are such good value!

Those salad in the middle pizzas are still a few hundred cal (isnt it like an 'under 500cal' menu?) and we get 300cals of syns a day so not sure it would cover a whole one or not, though I guess you could Hex some cheese!
Cant believe I havent had pizza in so long, but if it isnt waved in my face I can avoid it (cant avoid Chinese, that's my fave!) last night snelt one on the bus as someone had a take away pizza box and my pupils dilated like th shark in finding Nemo when it smells blood :p hehe.

Ooh where are you of on hol to?? Have fun!! :D x

Hey CT :) sorry for abandoning you!

So happy to see that your 'disappointing' (to you only ;)) loss hasn't thrown you off track!

Bring on that award on Tuesday!!

You are doing amazingly well Honey

Oh wow! I've had such an incredible day! The clinical open day for radiography was amazing, it's made me realise it's the perfect career for me, which has made me even more determined to get on the degree next year!

I'll try not to bore you all too much with my ravings, but there is so SO SOOO much more to radiography than you'd ever think! You can specialise to become a sonographer and do scans on pregnant women; be part of the cardio team where you do angiograms and go into theatre during heart surgery etc. You can go into the forensics side and assist murder investigations by making images of dead bodies; deal with trauma cases in an A&E setting; research; becoming a specialist in MRI, CT or ultrasound!!! EEK! It's all so exciting. Also not to make a big deal about the money side of things (I'm not in it for the money I just want a job I enjoy) after the shift allowance, on call allowance and weekend working allowance radiographers with 6 months experience earn between 35-40k!! That's insane compared to most graduate jobs! The NHS also fund the course so you don't have to fork out 9k a year for uni fees AND they pay you around £550 a month to study in a combination of bursaries and allowances! Plus for the past 10 years the degree at Hallam has a 100% employment record!!

The downside - competition to get on the course is TOUGH! Apparently my first choice uni Sheffield Hallam got 900 applications this last year for just 28 places!! Even though I've got a 2:1 in my Law degree and 5 A's at A-level (I've always been a bit of a geek!) I'm still not sure I'll be lucky enough to get on the course. All the uni's do an assessment day which involves tests in maths, image interpretation, team work, writing and a panel interview! You're allowed to apply to 5 courses throughout the country. As I'm not moving from Sheffield it might mean a lot of commuting but I'll do ANYTHING to get on this degree so I don't mind really! I've narrowed down my choices to Sheffield Hallam, Leeds, Derby, Bradford and Salford in that order. Although Salford would be a bit of a push travel wise I'd still do it rather than wait another year if it was my only option.

Anyway, despite the huge competition for places I'm feeling really positive about things. The only downside is that I was the biggest person there, but you know what? I'm working on it, every day I'm getting healthier and closer to my goal, so I refuse to worry about my size, it's changing as fast as I can so I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Besides the NHS health check won't be till next summer, by then I'll be loads slimmer.

Also to top my day off when I got home 4 books from the Open University were waiting for me! My course starts in 3 weeks so it's great to know I'm all prepared now. The only thing left to do is write my personal statement for the degree application and get it all sent off. So that's my main job for next week, I have no idea how I'm going to get down my passion for this career path on paper in under 4000 characters, but I'll try my best!

Sorry for going totally off topic with all the radiography talk! :D You'll all be experts in the subject soon ;) Anyway, food wise I'm doing well so far - an entirely free SW breakfast for brunch and an 8 syn City Kitchen meal for tea. If I get peckish later (likely!) I've got fruit, babybel and a muller to munch on. Also got some body magic in today as I had a tour of the hospital which lasted around an hour, so lots of walking involved!

Jet2 wouldn't let me do our on-line check in for our flights at 00:01 this morning ( maybe I was overly keen but they said it'd be available on the 14th!) so I'm off to try again now.

Week 6, Day 5 - EE

Brunch -SW fry up - 2 x poached eggs, lean bacon, mushrooms, plum tomatoes, baked beans
Tea - City Kitchen skinny coconut chicken - 8 syns
Supper - 2 x mini Babybel ; muller light ; nectarine (not sure I'll need all that but I can always edit this later!)

Total - 8 syns

Feels really good to have managed a low syn day at long last. At least that makes up for my Subway HEXB boo-boo earlier this week! :D

not boring at all chick...it all sounds really interesting!

skimming through some posts there about pizza...
i've done a few versions since starting this - tried it with the smash base (oooh the controversial smash being used for something it shouldn't! cue the smash police lol)
i've used wm bread, toasted one side then put tomato puree and toppings then bunged it in the oven - it was yummy and syn/ guilt free!
and a lot of people do the same with ww pitta or the square wrap things if you wanted to syn some for it.

never gonna be the same without sh1t loads of badness being crammed into the base/sauce...but these ones were good and done the trick for me ;) x

Thanks Miss K - that sounds quite a good idea actually, much better than blowing my syns on a 'proper' pizza. Think I'll give the ww pitta pizza a go sometime next week. I'm sure it's not going to be quite the same but if I have a green day and combine my HEXA's together I could make it really yummy and cheesy!

it's def good on a green/red day cos you have 2 HE's so can have it for lunch/dinner AND still have something else too ;)
i find it really good to get super free in too cos it's topped with it and i'd usually have some with salad too

i've not done it with a pitta but the toast was good x

Wow wow I can practically feel the energy and positivity coming off you!! :D sounds like you've had a truly brilliant day! It's so amazing to find something you're so interested in as a job! Awww imagine scanning the pregnant women, that would be my choice!! There really is so much you could do with that degree!

Sounds like a fab sw friendly day too! :)
Xxx

Do indeed... I would love to try your pizza... how about a piccie?

That is one mighty tasty looking beastie

I was going to suggest the wholemeal pizza too- that looks fab! I've heard only certain Mixes like the Tesco own brand wholemeal mix count as hexB, is that right? I got some anyway but the instructions look like effort (all this kneading and waiting to rise LOL) but do wanna try that soon!

Wow thay radiology course sounds amazing!! I would KILL to be a crime scene photographer! (would help me towards a portfolio if I did too ;) LOL) like Dexter (do you watch that?)
Is the whole course of studyig for it completely free then? :S that's pretty amazing... Do you need to already have a degree to get on it?
Fingers crossed for you to get that place! Sounds like a dream for you :) I am getting all excited from your energy!
X
