Fulltum to Flattum!

Tizzy- Beyond chocolate is the exact opposite of life without chocolate as it actively encourages you to indulge your cravings for it! Its about eating when hungry, eating slowly, enjoying every mouthful and stopping when full not just because the plate is empty. Its very similar to Paul McKenna but written more for women :) I tried Paul McKenna last year and it was great for maintaining my weight but I didnt lose much which is why I want to lose the weight before doing it long term, its amazing how much smaller your portions are when you sit and enjoy it instead of wolfing it down.
You have done amazingly well and I take my hat off to you for coming back to it as each restart can be hard unless your head is in the right place x

Susan- What time do you weigh? Hope its a good one for you :) I dont weigh until 7pm and am going out pretty much straight after so may not update till the morning, I would love to go on holiday over Christmas but I only get Christmas day off and we are not allowed annual leave at Christmas :( Where are you going? Bet you will have to buy a brand new wardrobe with all this weightloss!

hi fulltum, i dont weigh until 6pm tonight... gotta remember to stop drinking the water at least abn hour before i go, or i will end up gaining weight.... im so hugely thirsty on this diet, i am already on pint number 5 today and its only lunchtime.... i have my own business and we always shut for two weeks over christmas so everyone can have a rest and spend time with the family... were off to egypt, sharm el sheikh on december 20th and are out there for two weeks.... i cannot wait, it should be nice and warm, only problem is its all inclusive and i can sometimes take them at their word! i really dont want to undoe all my hard work over the last couple of months in one holiday.... i'm hoing not to have to buy a new wardrobe though, (it would be nice) but i do have slimmer clothes from before im hoping i can use, as i will only be half way to my goal and i dont want to buy loads of lovely clothes that i then dont want to grow out of!!!! Just hoping i can shift another stone + before i go.... =0)

Hi Susan - so many questions! :)
When I started, I wanted to get to 150lbs by the time I went to the US for vacation and to see family/friends. When I got to within 15lbs of that goal, I realized that (a) it wasn't enough and (b) with CD I could actually lose more, so I decided to have a Phase 1 (before US) and Phase 2 (after US). While in the US, I decided to enjoy myself, eat what I liked, but monitor - I bought a really good scale and had it shipped to where I would be staying.

While in the US (a little over 3 weeks), I gained 6.5lbs. I expected a gain - I ate lovely food, had crisps, indulged in alcohol and desserts. But I also worked out 3-4x/week and tried to be quite active. So I didn't think the gain was particularly bad. I've seen others who went on holiday for 2-3 weeks and they put on a stone or more!
When I got back home, I then had a week or so off so that I could catch up with friends over BBQs, etc. Gained another 2-3lbs.

Started Phase 2, with new goal (135lbs) at the beginning of Sept and yes it was hard getting back into it. I had already surprised my family (they were really blown away and very happy), was feeling better and going back to CD with re-awakened tastebuds... not easy. It took 2-3 weeks before I got back into the swing of things. However, this time I don't have a hard & fast deadline (like my US trip), plus I'm travelling more to my client's offices in France, so I find myself doing more ss+ days than not, plus more client lunches and dinners, all of which result in a slower weight loss (as you can see from my stats).

This week I'm not travelling and have nothing on the agenda until the weekend - and then it is something I can easily control - so I'm focused on doing ss/ss+ and working out. I want to lose 3-4lbs by next Monday (weigh-in day).

Almost everyone I know who went off CD for summer or wedding or some other special occassion struggled to get back into the zone. However, they didn't quit and however long it took, they're back now and losing. So yes, it may be difficult when you start again in January - but you can do it. As long as you stay in the game, the scales will inch (or plunge) downward and you will get to goal!

And the support from people on this forum .... it really, really helps!

Hi Tizzy, apologies, i'm always full of questions....

You did fantastic while in the US, only gaining 6.5lbs is superb, i imagine a huge amount of that was simply water retention.... i hope i can do the same when i have my break! Sounds like you enjoyed the holiday and had some lovely food, america is meant to be amazing for its food.... i imagine, one could easily gain at least a stone or two with a two week break out there... you did amazing!!!! especially exercising while there, that's real determination!

So, looks like i just have to make sure i'm determined and have my head in the right place... and make sure i stay on here.... this website has been a life saver so far... i would never have got to week 8 without all the help and support on here.... cd can be fine at times, and the days go quick, but sometimes i feel im counting the minutes!!!!

Best of luck with your new goal, and the 3-4 lbs by monday.... i'm weighing in tonight and cant wait to (hopefully) get my 2 stone.... (just 1 more pound to go!!) Fingers crossed! =0)

good luck!

Congrats on the 2 stone Susan :D you are doing fab!..

Well I have good news that at my weigh in I lost 11lbs :D but I have decided not to carry on with cambridge :( I was feeling really miserable, even though I was in ketosis I was still hungry all the time and when I was doing a shift at work I felt very weak and shakey :( and the thought of feeling like that for upto 6 months was unbearable! I was also very aware of the fact my children were wondering why I wasnt eating with them anymore (we eat as a family every night) and I really dont want to pass any eating problems on to them in the future.

I am going to follow the beyond chocolate method of mindful eating and do my best and if it fails I may come back.

Thanks for your support this week and good luck for the future and I hope you hit goal as quickly as possible x

Congratulations and good luck with beyond chocolate. Have found the website and will do some research on it.
