Getting to Target in 2018 (finally!)

Sounds really positive and as your scales are quite similar I reckon you are on to a good weight loss this week. I find if you have a week with 7 days on plan you will always have a good loss. Good luck! x

Thanks Charlie! It is star week so I'm surprised my scales are showing such a loss and slightly concerned I might balloon overnight, haha! x

If you do, then it will show next week, but I doubt that anyway :)

I lost 3 pounds last night, meaning I got my 3 stone award. 44 pounds gone in total, in 20 weeks! So so happy :)

I got Slimmer of the Week too, which I've not had for a while. We're having lunch bought for us at work today, delivered from Pizza Express. I've ordered the tuna nicoise salad. I won't eat the bread sticks it comes with and have asked for the dressing on the side - am hoping it should be fairly low syn!

No real plans for the week ahead yet but am really hoping to see my husband this weekend as it's been nearly 4 weeks. I am not loving the army right now as they keep preventing us from seeing each other :(

wow well done. you're doing great.

well done for not ordering pizza x x

Sooooo, I've been a bit absent from here haven't I?! Yeah, I've been struggling. I saw my husband the weekend before last for the first time in ages and had two on plan takeaways with him, plus lots of beer, wine and gin. Oh, and ice cream. Then, on the Sunday he got called into work and had to leave in the morning. So I was sad and hungover and ordered myself a huge pizza and assorted sides from Pizza Hut. Which I ate and enjoyed but then immediately felt horrendously guilty about.

I managed to get back on plan on the Monday and had a good few days but I just couldn't face going to weigh in on the Wednesday. Which of course I took as licence to eat loads of junk food (69 syns worth in one evening). Ugh. I got back on it again on the Thursday and have been a Slimming World angel since but still! I'm so annoyed with myself! I've always been a binge eater who eats in secret and I felt that old behaviour creeping back in last week. Not good at all.

I did finally go to weigh in on Saturday morning and I maintained, so it could have been a lot worse. I'm back to my normal group tomorrow but I really don't think I'm going to have lost anything much, as it'll only be 4 days since I last weighed in. But I guess the most important thing is that I am back on plan 100% and I have regained control. I'm still struggling with wanting to eat rubbish but am doing everything I can to stop myself! Hoping that this is just a phase and I'll be back to my super determined, willpower filled self soon enough!

I've just read your recent posts - you've done amazingly well :0clapper:

It must be tough for you to be separated from your hubby and very upsetting that he was called into work during your weekend.

I know we shouldn't comfort ourselves with food but so many of us do - I'm a secret emotional eater too - you've done really well to get back onto plan and go to a class and another achievement to maintain - hope you're not beating yourself up now :classic_err_what:

Heya! If you read my recent post you will see how I have also been struggling, but it is being honest with ourselves that really helps.

My SW consultant really helped me last night. We spoke about deep ingrained habits that take a while to change, and how to try to look differently at them. Mine is drinking on social events at the weekend and ruining a whole weeks worth of good eating in one evening after a few beers. Not knowing when to stop. Doesn't make me an alcoholic obviously, just someone that associates fun and socialising at weekends with having to have drink, which then results in bad food choices, and often hangover binges.

The other thing we spoke about though, was the behaviours we have changed, and how we can't beat ourselves up about a few treats or mistakes. Getting back on plan is a triumph in itself, when previously i bet a bad week would turn into a bad month?? Also, you maintained, not gained, no damage done!!!

I feel your frustrations, but, in this SW community we have all been there, and all there to support each other. I debated not posting for a few weeks until I had lost again, but that was just silly really!

Thankyou so much! I'm used to being apart from him now but it is really hard sometimes.

I've always eaten in secret. It's been my crutch for years! I was initially disappointed with my maintain but that's silly. After what I ate it's a miracle!

I was exactly the same - didn't want to post until I'd lost something but what's the point in this if we're not honest?! I think I felt embarrassed to be honest, which is daft. We're all human and we all slip up sometimes.

My habits are exactly the same. Fun = having a few drinks = ending up hungover and bingeing on rubbish. But yes, you're right, previously I'd have probably just carried on and let it turn into a bad month. And knowing me, I could have gained a stone in that time as I can gain BIG when I'm not being mindful about what I eat.

We can definitely do this. Thanks so much for your support! xx

Yep, sounds like we are very similar! I have plans this weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, back at my parents house in Kent, and I have made a decision to not drink at all Friday and Sunday, which will be hard as everyone else will be, but worth it. Saturday our tradition every year is the beer festival and then fish and chips takeaway on the way home. I have asked my mum to get in some nice SW friendly food for me (that is comfort food as well), so I can have that instead of the takeaway. Think these plans will hopefully help me break some habits, and come Monday be in a lot better place and think "yep that wasn't that hard, and now it is worth it for weigh in".

Thanks for your support as well! x

That sounds like such a good plan! You could have the fish with no batter, mushy peas and maybe get some fairly low syn oven chips or something? Although tbh fish with no batter would probably devastate me, haha!

I don't have too many plans this weekend (husband is having to work - AGAIN :() but I will be seeing friends so I'll be sticking to gin and slim rather than wine and going to try my hardest to keep my food syn free to compensate for any alcohol. I might be going to my parents' for Easter Sunday lunch but my Mum is a treasure and always does syn free roasties, etc.

Here's to a great weekend for both of us and a good loss next week! x

I totally forgot to update this after weigh in last week - I managed to lose a pound! Not bad given that it was only 4 days since I'd last weighed in.

Unfortunately I've been a bit of an off plan idiot again this week. Well, Thursday-Saturday at least! I went out for a quiet drink after work on Thursday with my friend, and it escalated into lots of drinks and getting home at 2am. NOT how I wanted to start my Bank Holiday weekend, particularly given that I felt so awful on the Friday (I couldn't keep anything down - even water) that I ended up ordering a flippin' takeaway. Although, to be honest, I barely ate any of it as I really didn't enjoy it. I think the days of me loving greasy takeaways might actually be over. Just need to remember that the next time I have a rotten hangover! I still felt quite bad on Saturday and, although my meals were completely on plan, I did end up snacking on Oreos and ice cream inbetween :(

I finally drew the line on Sunday then and went for a 4km run first thing, which I think helped to keep me on track that day - as I didn't want to undo all my hard work! I've been a Slimming World angel since then so fingers crossed it carries on. I'm starting to get frustrated with myself as I'm doing what I always do. I've lost a fair bit of weight, I'm starting to not hate what I see in the mirror = I'm letting bad habits creep back in. I really need to get my determination back as I've still got a long way to go!

Well done on a pound, that is great.

Also, well done for drawing a line after a fun easter and going on a run!! That is a win in itself, and you have done so so well. We all need to live life and not let this dictate everything forever, but at the same time get back into focus after a blip. It seems like you do that well, so I know you will be back on it this week and have a loss again :)

Thankyou! My scales are showing a small loss so fingers crossed the SW ones match later! Not sure I deserve one but I'll take it and run if it happens :)

I lost 2 pounds last night! Probably not deserved but I think it makes up for the weeks when I've lost less than I deserved ;) 3 stone 5lbs gone now, in 23 weeks. I'd dearly love to get my 3.5 stone award next week but we'll have to see. I've got zero plans this week so no reason it shouldn't happen but my body doesn't like to play by the rules, haha!
