Going to try some Original Days

I have been really enjoying doing red days, that horrible bloated feeling hasnt been happening. I am still throwing in an occasional extra easy day, but it does feel like I am better suited to red where I can.

It is * week for me and my weight loss for the week was 1.5lbs off, which is unknown for me on a * week. I normally have a STS.

Do you know I have searched for artichokes, and can I find any?....NO :( HUMPH!

I seem to have totally skipped my * week for some reason. I was due on the 14th February and still no sign of it, it seems to have got lost *shrugs* I have been feeling so bloated this week, I thought for sure it would make an appearance, but no. They have been all over the place since December, week early, bleeding for 3 weeks! then a normal one, then nothing. Its not like me either, been putting off seeing my lady doctor. Before anyone asks, no I am not pregnant, that would be a miracle! As I am in a same sex partnership lol

I am like you tho BMIC I tend to get really bloated and not lose on a * week

I can only get artichokes at my local produce grocery store here, haven't seen them in the supermarkets. The ones I did get were quite small compared to their size in the summer, so perhaps it isnt their season at the moment??

Silvermanuk, it could be a hormone imbalance of some sort? My cycles went strange all of a sudden and several problems later and tests with a specialist, it was then I was diagnosed with PCOS. Might be worth speaking to your GP if it continues.

Thats interesting, as I just looked up your condition and does seem I have a lot of the symptoms. I thought my periods, and some of the related PCOS symptoms were due to my thyroid, as I have hypothyroidism but i had my levels checked and they were normal. So my doctor said I shouldnt be still having those symptoms, but obviously I am.

I know I need to see my lady doctor I just keep putting it off, because with my M.E I have been poked and prodded enough to put me off doctors for life lol. I will get to it though! :D:eek:

Thanks for your advice. x

If I dont get a good loss this week doing green then Im swapping to red days. I really think I'll miss all my pasta, rice, spuds etc though

I realised some time ago that i can only loose weight on red days. I do have an occasional green one when i am missing pasta. If i stuck to EE or green all the time i would put on and never loose. I guess it is all about knowing your own body?

I think it might be the reason Im maintaining them I just assumed if I stuck to green 100% it would result in a loss but maybe not aye!
Whats a typical red day then foodwise?

Ive moved to Red days because im STS too much with EE, i think i overeat the carbs and not enough veggies! will see how i get on over the next few weeks! x

Butternut Squash is a good substitute for potatoes on red days, stops the cravings for carbs too.

I am making a shepherds pie today topped with cauliflower instead of potatoes.

You just have to be creative to stop the cravings for carbs. I am still going to have the occasional EE day thrown in, but I will only be having the carbs at my dinner time, so it will be a red lunches. iykwim.

I do EE days as i cant get on with Green I love carbs but my body doesnt!!

If you'll really miss them why not try doing EE but cutting down on the amount of carbs you have on your plate so that it is mainly red stuff and veg

xx

I have also been thinking of doing red days as I am so frustrated with what I consider to be slow losses on EE... The only worry for me is the increased shopping bill!!

Seriously mrsmc i thought my shopping bill would be huge because i am buying eveything fresh, meat, veg and buying fresh herbs etc but because i am not buying any junk, my shopping bill hasn't actually changed at all. I buy online as well, so able to compare my bills with what I was buying previously. The kids are also eating healthily now, eating tons of fruit and yoghurts, instead of tons of cakes biscuits and crisps.

So basically all the junk has been replaced with healthy alternatives and my outlay hasnt been more, which I thought it would be as I have bought huge amounts of herbs and spices for my cupboard and I am trying 4-5 different recipes a week to try and keep it interesting.

My step daughter has lost some of her puppy fat and gone down a size in clothes, so she feels happier about herself as well. Also we had a takeaway at least once a week before which used to cost me £20+, so I am saving on that as well!

Thanks for the advice Silver but I have been doing SW for months and don't buy any crap whatsoever and didn't much before tbh. My concern is eating less of the green foods (potatoes and pasta) and having no choice but to increase my protein intake which is more expensive. I only have £50 for shopping each week so it is already a struggle to feed three adults and two children.

A realy good place for meat, that is still very good quality is Lidl! I recently discovered that they do lovely lean meat for a lot less than I buy elsewhere, it might be worth a look! :)
