half and half???

Hi I found this recipe for cheeseburger pie – what is the uk equivalent of half and half??

Cheeseburger Pie

1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
4 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
salt & pepper to taste
1 clove garlic, minced
3 eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup half & half
8 oz. shredded cheese

I moved from the UK to Canada and I'd say that single cream would be the best equivalent of half and half.

Use double mixed with water maybe? Half and half mix?
