Heffalump to Slinky: Journey to Less of Me

Hiii! :wavey:

Thanks for that lovely, sounds lush - will try it (when I have some frozen spinach in :p)
Iii am having a good day, not success express though - green for me (mmmm!)

How nice to give you a doggy bag of red day goodies (heh, can you tell I love red days?! Ironic as I used to be scared to even try them.. thinking I'd get too hungry etc.. but no, love them now :D)

I am definitely thinking it's a loss for this week (*crosses fingers some more*) just don't know how much :D teehee! Never trust the wii though - it is evil, is it, it is!

You're lunch sounds so nice today... I wish I liked berries so I could have things like that.

Le sigh. One DAY! .. I am slowly trying to 'love' things I used to loath. Celery is high on the list atm.

Anyway - have a great weekend, and good luck for your next weigh in :D :bunnydance: x

It's really, really nice -filling, too. I sometimes think it needs a little salt, but that seems to vary by the day :D

I'm actually having the chicken today on EE because I wanted with with SW chips & cheese (SO GOOD), but I've been a bit spoiled, definitely (I got the berries and some plums, too :D, much better than leftover cake and not likely to go stale!)

I will need to get your input on red days at some point, I'm definitely a green girl with brocolli tendencies and I definitely worry about the hunger thing, but I want to get into them more in the future - keep it shaken up :D

Hrm, what is it with celery you don't like? Celeriac might be a way into it (it's a similar flavour but not so strong and the texture's v different, it's nice raw in coleslaw)

GOOD LUCK with your WI babe - you've been SO on it this week (ruddy wii scales be darned ;))

Finally catching up to myself and posting what I ate/moved over the days I didn't blog last weekend :D

Have a lovely rest-of-sunday!

Well, I ended up being super lazy yesterday, I just couldn't get any motivation to move (bad me). My work's motivating me to climb stairs today as half our lifts are out of commission (we have 6 floors and I'm often on all of them, multiple times a day) so, thank you universe, I'll get off my behind! :p

I'm going out for dinner tonight for a friend's birthday and the menu really doesn't look very SW friendly - any ideas what I should be choosing from this little lot:

Starters
Bruschetta - Toasted bread topped with tomato & parmesan
Today’s Fresh Soup of the Day - Served with a fresh crusty roll
Breaded Mushrooms - Served with a garlic mayonnaise dip
Mussel Bowl - Steamed in garlic & white wine, served
with crusty bread
Haddock & Spring Onion Fishcake - Served with rocket & a sweet chilli dip
Chicken & Wild Mushroom Pâté - Served with Scottish oatcakes & caramelised onion chutney
Spicy Nachos - Tortilla chips with cheddar cheese & jalapenos topped with salsa & sour cream
Baked Camembert - Served with toasted ciabatta & caramelised onion chutney
OVEN BAKED POTATOES
Served with salad garnish & topped with one or two of the following: Tuna & Lime Mayo, Three Bean Chilli, Cheddar Cheese, Coleslaw, Baked Beans, Beef Chilli

SALAD SELECTION
Warm Bacon & Black Pudding - Mixed leaves, peppers, cucumber & cherry tomato topped with bacon & Scottish black pudding
Lemon & Black Pepper Chicken - Warm marinated breast of chicken, with mixed leaves, tomato & cucumber coated in a light basil dressing
Feta & Roast Cherry Tomato - Mixed leaves, cucumber, red onion & olives topped with crumbled feta cheese & roast cherry tomatoes, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette
Chicken Caesar - Warm chicken breast served with cos lettuce, croutons, parmesan shavings & Caesar dressing

SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Steak & Chips - 8oz sirloin with chips, grilled tomato & peppercorn sauce on the side
Slow Cooked Belly of Pork - With a cider sauce served with crushed potatoes & seasonal vegetables
Thai Green Curry - Chicken, beef or vegetables marinated in Thai spices served with rice & naan bread
Chicken & Chorizo Tagliatelle - In a light tomato & spinach sauce, served with garlic bread
Sizzling Fajitas - Spicy chicken or vegetable, served with flour tortillas, salsa & sour cream

FAVOURITES
Sausage & Mash - Beef, chilli & cracked pepper sausages, served with mash & gravy
Beef or Three Bean Chilli - Chef’s own special recipe –
served with rice & sour cream
Cajun Chicken - Succulent chicken breast dusted in Cajun spices, served with chips, salad garnish & sour cream
Beef or Roasted Vegetable Lasagne - Served with salad garnish & garlic bread
Chef’s Own Steak & Ale Pie - Tender beef chunks in Deuchar’s gravy topped with a puff pastry lid served with potatoes or
chips & seasonal vegetables
Steak Ciabatta - Served with rocket, caramelised onions & chips

FISH DISHES
Sea Bream Fillet with Pesto - Served on chilli & coriander noodles
Haddock & Spring Onion Fish Cakes - Two delicious fish cakes served with dressed rocket salad, oven roasted cherry tomatoes
& sweet chilli dip
Steamed Scottish Mussels & Chips - With your choice of sauce:
Tomato & Chilli White Wine, Cream & Garlic, Thai Green Curry
Fish & Chips - Haddock fillet in a crisp batter served with chips & tartare sauce
Scampi & Chips -Breaded wholetail scampi served with chips
& tartare sauce
I'm thinking maybe the soup (if it's not a cream of or something distressing) or the mussels (I've never had them before, and I'm wary of shellfish but I like fish, prawns and scallops, so...) and then either the sea bream or maybe the Chicken & Chorizo Tagliatelle? But I really don't know and it's not really appealing to me very much anyway.

I intend to eat a bunch of fruit all afternoon at work so I'm not super hungry and I might just have the one course and diet coke *frets*. Fresh eyes and more intelligent input would be lovely.

Okay, so today is neccessarily EE

Supper

I know it's "playing" with the plan, but I'm going to count the parmesan over the mussels as my HexA, because my dinner's left me a bit delicate for dairy :jelous:.

Still, it was a fun night and good company, so :) and I discovered I like mussels :D

Hiii lovely!
I would have

- soup, and not eat the bread roll

Either
- lemon chicken salad (with light basil dressing on the side)
- steak with salad (ask for potatoe on the side (HEB :D) and steak sauce if you want, ask for it on the side.
- any version of fish with vegetables

You'll do great no matter what :D
When do you WI? x

Anytime poppet! Do you do mainly green? You can have brocoli on a red day you know :p

I don't know  maybe the texture (becaue I don't like cucumber either :p) it's just so crunchy and leaves celery ribbon things in your mouth - yuck!
and thankkks - your luck helped - 4lbs off :bunnydance: (I know you know, just reminding myself here after my AWFUL night.:angeldevil:

Now then Mrs, what did you end up having to eat?
What are your plans for this week/until your London holiday... because I was thinking... I'm not doing all that much either (apart from swimming a ridiculous ammount of lengths in a bid to [STRIKE]reduce the flab and get slimmer arms[/STRIKE] raise money for charity... soooo  ... if you wanted to hook up  and commit :hug99: to doing some 100% days with me I would feel a lot less like a lonesome Bridget Jones. :giggle:

I didn't see your message until this morning - and that would have been a better choice than the one I made..well, unfortunately the soup was creamy mushroom, which rather scunnered me for the cream and the fact I loathe mushrooms and the mussels were really nice (and as I don't eat bread I didn't have anything to mop up the sauce with, so can't have been too bad). My main was WAY too oily though and I barely ate any of it. Blech. It left me feeling very queasy, too. 1st gaviscon in ages last night.

Next time I'm doing the steak and potato (most of the people I was out with don't know I'm on SW and would ask why I wasn't eating chips and could potentially be really odd about it, which is why I didn't do that. I should have had the salad, I was just a bit cold!).

Ah well, onwards and downwards, no point focussing on the coulda, shoulda, woulda, stuff, right? I have a plan for that place next time, I've discovered I like mussels (hurrah, healthy seafood ftw) and I had the syns for it. I just get a bit cross about having to go out the night before I WI with no time to haul back! :D

WI this evening, so I've eaten a bunch of S Free today and I'll stop after lunch until WI is done. I've 3lbs to my 10%, but given my losing history (nothing over 2.5, averaging to about 1.2 until last week's crazy big loss) I'm not expecting that tonight - especially not after last night.

I had to run for the train this morning - and apart from my boobs swinging like they wanted to kill someone (probably me. Note to self: buy sports bra, that was not fun!) I didn't feel like dying afterwards and got my breath back pretty fast :D.

Oooh, we must stop crossing posts like this :p. I do mainly EE, or I start that way, work out I've actually been veggie all day and then make it be green so I can have more HExs :D I should just Success Express and be done, I think really. I'll look into that.

Hrm. I could absolutely have the all brocolli all the time diet (especially if I could include purple sprouting and tenderstem...) I will try at least one red day this week though and will pester the LIFE out of you for ideas ;)

I don't know  maybe the texture (becaue I don't like cucumber either :p) it's just so crunchy and leaves celery ribbon things in your mouth - yuck!

Celeriac would definitely help with that - the texture's more like swede than anything else and no ribbons (although I destring my celery with a veggie peeler anyway, because I hate getting that stuck in my teeth!)

and thankkks - your luck helped - 4lbs off :bunnydance: (I know you know, just reminding myself here after my AWFUL night.:angeldevil:

Remind away, it's a HECK of an achievement :D

I'm plan free until London, so yep - count me in for the 100% club :D - I'll away and update my signature right now!

I GAINED half a pound last night. GAINED. I totally didn't deserve that:(. I'd've been fine with a sts after last week, but a GAIN!?! Not happy at all.

It was a ruddy awful class, too (and they're usually excellent). The hall was freezing, the kettle didn't work, the C did the new member talk at the beginning so we were REALLY late starting and then the thingie that tells her how we've done was broken so instead of her saying I'd had a wee gain but had still lost 1st 8.5 I had to say I'd had a gain. Just. BLECH.

So I went home, ate half a tin of beans, 5 eat smart sausages, 3 fibre plus, 3 babybel lights, my milk allowance and 50g of peanuts, then went to bed in a huff.

BAH. I know I need to get properly back into the excercise, because not doing much isn't helping matters... Sticking to plan 100% today, and I'll be moving around tonight, but my inner 4 year old's in a sulk.

woohoo Petal :wavey:

Now then -that itty bitty 1/2lb will be off again in no time... so send your "inner 4 year old" to sit on the naughty step :p

Don't let it get you down -You KNOW you have stuck to the plan, you KNOW the plan works so it will even its self out. Our bodies are curious things that quite often make no sense what so ever :p

I hope you don't let it derail you -you are doing soooo well -so pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start afresh from now "we will pretend that little *incident* involving peanuts never happened ;)"
Have a lovely day Mrs...

Thank you - just. Yeah, thank you.

I'm having a bit of a running battle in my head at the moment - the plan's winning, hurrah, and I've enough soup with me that it'll keep me full enough to not want bad stuff, it's just *humph*, you know?

Anyway, I'm going to "treat" myself to the expensive fruit and veg in M&S today on the way home (it's so much nicer) and I'm going to make today red, just to switch things up (plus I have a nice bit of salmon to eat for tea).

Anyone know what cooked weight of new potatoes forms a HExB on red at all?

It's hard today, but I'll get through it (and I hope my shred arrives).

Thats it ..treat yourself to something yummy from M&S
-M&S do have some lovely fruit n veg don't they ....

Its 198g raw weight of new potatoes in their skins for 1heB and ooooo salmon

yayyyyy 100% club! Here we go, here we go, here we go!! :bliss:

they really do - and things are so wishy washy everywhere else right now (the apples are turning wooly and nothing else's quite ready yet)

Thank you :) - I figure salmon, lovely baby pots and a wheen of lovely tenderstem brocolli is the way to go.

yayyyyy 100% club! Here we go, here we go, here we go!! :bliss:

Yes, yes we do :D

Day One: Shredded.

OMG. I think I might actually be dead and I don't even have hand weights (it's going to take a wee while before I'm strong enough to consider them, I think, the weight of my horrid fat arms are quite enough on their own!

Also I NEED a sports bra.

Jillian's really good though, not at all annoying :D - thank you all who reccomended her to me.

I'm off to collapse into a nice warm bath now!

She IS good isn't she :D .... but its deffinitely a "sports bra DVD"

:banana dancer: -bet you sleep well tonight ;)

*snorts* I bet I will, too -I am REALLY glad it arrived today, I feel a lot better head-wise for having done it, as well as wet noodle armed and legged! :D.

I did spend the last skippy bit holding my boobs and spare tyre instead of a pretend rope, it got a bit sore! If I can get a longer lunch tommorrow I'll bolt along to Evans - it's a big one and I should be able to pick something up relatively cheaply -I'll be ordering the good one when I next get paid!

Red Day: Done 100%. 2 HexAs, 2 HexBs, 6 Syns and 30minutes shredded.

So, I guess the angel on my shoulder won, not the grumpy devil - and it feels pretty good (noodly limbs aside ;)).

Tommorrow I'm doing OT so I won't be able to shred, and I'm on EE because it's a bit easier when eating's a bit complicated, but I'll get out at lunchtime for a yomp and I bought some lovely M&S salad to take in so I'm well sorted.

Also: Red day HexB potatoes amount to a LOT and I'd forgotten how much I like porridge :D

Well, so far I'm aware that I definitely did something last night, but the shred's not left me totally crippled (yet, there's still time...) *TMI WARNING* it seems to have brought my period on properly after nearly a week of it puttering on annoyingly (I'm not entirely sure if this is a good thing or not, because it's also brought cramp with it, but we'll go with it). *END OF TMI*

Today is a slightly awkward day eating-wise, as I won't get home until late, but I think I'm sorted and I'll defintely be out at lunchtime for a yomp (and to get facial scrub, I think I'll need it post-shred :D. Also a sports bra if I can get out long enough :)).

Right, in the interests of keeping things mixed up whilst 100% this week: [STRIKE]EE Day[/STRIKE]. Red day. I must be channelling Elaine!
