How much stock for a casserole in the slow cooker?

Hi all,

I recently bought a slow cooker and I'm trying it out for the first time tomorrow. I'm going to make a turkey and tarragon casserole, but I have no idea how much stock to add.

It's going to be a casserole for 4 people (or should I say 4 gannets! :D) so it will be a reasonably large one!

I wish they'd give decent recipe books with these things, lol! xx

Keep the contents as low down in the cooker as possible and only put enough water in to *just* cover your meat etc. The meat will dry out where it is exposed but no water evaporates in your cooker and loads of water comes out of the veg plus the meat so it is usually pretty watery. You can always reduce it on the stove at the end and/or add a bit of cornflour to thicken up if you want though.

There are loads of slow cooker recipes out there if you google. :)
