Just read this thread and it really touched me I'm so glad it's good news, shows what a hypercondriact I am whilst reading your thread I have a sore throat and thought oh no! It is scary how long people have to wait for appointments especially if you are young doctors tend to over look your symptoms, I am a trainee nurse so I do see all the good that the Health service do but I have also been a patient and not had a great experience but this was due to lack of staff but it's not good enough the powers above need to get Their priorities right....

all I can say is I will do the best I can for all my patients and I hope those around me will to, I'm so glad for you I love a happy ending!

I saw a different specialist today. He was a doll. What a great sense of humour.

Anyway, he asked me lots of questions. sat me in an examination chair and without any warning inserted a camera up my nose and into my throat. G0d , what a shock that was. It didnt' hurt, but boy was it weird. When he first inserted it I tried to hit him I was so shocked. It was like a physical assault.
He confirmed that he does not think it is a cancerous tumor but is a bit concerned that the mass is so hard.
I am to see him again in 2 months to see if it has grown or reduced.
There is a possibility it could be connected to a drug called zometa that I had intravenously, twice a year for 5 years.He is also looking into that.

He was such good fun ( apart from the camera thing ) and shook hands with both of us as we left and said what a pleasure it was to have met us.

He made me feel relaxed and confident.

Oh how lovely that you saw a specialist you felt so confident with and also that the news is still positive. How very reassuring x But the camera thing - holy moly, that does not sound good!!

I think I might have given him more than a hit - I'd probably have grabbed him by something in his nether regions to see how he liked that!

That's so great that you got a great consultant. You seem to find that once you have got past all the fuss to get an appointment, the consultant is usally fantastic.
