I knew that Chilies had some effect on appetite, but they have more positive effects

Interesting article. Being Indian, I add chillies to most things (as well as other spices). My mum always told me the spices we use are great for helping our joints, our blood system, our immune system, preventing cancers and dementia. I don't often believe my mum, however in this I'm totally with her. I think a variety of spices and chillies (and vegetables, and at least a little fruit) are excellent for us :)
I'm half mexican and I adore all things hot and spicy, and struggle to eat anything without chillies :p But if chillies supress your appetite, they certainly don't work with me:p I feel cheated! ;)

i love nothing better than a nice chilli and rice :D i chop a couple of red chillis into really small pieces and add to my mince and shop brought chilli sauce just before serving and then i know i am eating fresh chillies , and it sure does make my face sweat :D
