i want to hide away..

#1
Does anyone else feel like this.....
At the moment in this time of weight loss ( 2nd week), i want to stay in and hide away... not because i'm embarresed how i look or can't controll the food or drink when i'm out and about, BUT because i want everyone to be shocked in a few weeks (months) when they see me looking a few stone lighter..... i want to see that gob smacked look on theire faces, and for them to say "is that really you, wow!!"...
Maybe i'm dreaming a little but it would be so nice for people to comment on how nice i'm looking. i'm even concidering changing my hair from dark brown/black to a blond.... have a full make over for summer to introduce the new me!!
It's time for change so i might go the whole nine yards and change my apearence totally..... Does any one else feel like this?

I felt like this before Xmas, and I was really geared up for seeing my family who I hadn't seen at all since starting LL.

Having lost around 2stone at the time, they did notice a difference but there wasn't the "OMG! Is that really YOU?!?!?" kind of reaction I had built myself up in my head to recieve...

So yes, I know how you feel, but in my experience, don't spend ages hiding away a when you finally do "emerge", you might not get the fanfare and applause you really hope for

That said, also think that family and close friends are less inclined to make those sort of over-the-top comments anyway, but I can imagine that when I next venture down to Brighton, to see casual friends and friends-of-friends that I've not seen in 5 months and will be by that point around 5, maybe 6 stone down, those kind of comments might come about...

I know what you mean and expected a few people to notice but other than my friends saying yeah you look like you've lost a bit no-one said much until I e-mailed my before and 6 weeks into the diet pictures and then everyone seemed to realise what a difference it had made, even me.... so don't lock yourself away but definitely take a before pic and do another one when you've lost a bit x

definately definately definately take a before pic.
No matter how much you might hate the camera, a picture of how you used to look is such a great inspiration-giver when you start making your comparison pictures.

It's also a good reminder of why you are doing what you are doing, and where you don't want to end up back at once you are "done" and back to real life!

Totally agree with Pete, I untagged some Facebook photos a few months back (before I started CD) because I couldn't bear to look at myself, now I'm trawling through trying to find them so I can cheer myself up with how much better I look now even if I do say so myself :D

By the way I didn't start to get any comments until I was 3 stone lighter.

I can't wait till my wedding in July as some relatives you won't have seen me for a year will hopefully be shocked as I walk down the aisle. People at work who I see 5 days a week have already started commenting and I've only lost half a stone. My next 'public outing' is 31st Jan for my friend's 21st so hopefully should have lost a stone and a half by then so should look quite a bit different since when they last saw me

I know exactly how you feel. When I last lost my weight on CD I still wore my 'fat' clothes which we baggy on me, first of all to give me an incentive, and secondly so that when I did put my 'skinny' clothes on it would be noticeable. People DID notice and boy, did I feel good:D. Some members may remember I used to post every Friday night, sometimes in tears becasue my mates were out on the town. Honestly, I moaned every single Friday :8855:. But it was worth it, and I hope so so so much I can do it again. Good luck and keep those images of the new you in your head when you are tempted:553: x

I'm not hiding away as life is not that easy, plus i like my social life, but the idea of people noticing that you have lost weight is always a good boost. You looked to have done really well from your pics.
