my own fruit/veg patch!!!!

Just went in the communal backgarden and saw the blackberry bush was much more fruitful than last week so my 2 yr old and I picked the ripe ones, came in and scoffed the lot! It was such fun to just be able to pick them and eat them for free (SW and money wise!).

I love mine!! It's developed over the last 3 years and gets bigger each year, I had no blackcurrants last year and this year I have lots - It's very exciting, I can't wait to make jam (not SW friendly!)

And you are correct, it's so economical although we are tiring of courgettes already!!

Can you pinch a space in the garden for yourself?

Possibly but I am sooo not a greenthumb so have no clue what I'm doing! I keep saying I'm going to use some spare pots lying around to plant fresh herbs and even that daunts me!!!

is getting better at it

I got the "grow your own " bug last year, but this is my first full season. I can't wait for my tomatoes to start .I've just moved my toms and chillis into the greenhouse as it's going to be foul tonight. Hopefully the lashing rain will wash off any of the cabbage white eggs I've missed on the broccoli! (and nothing tastes as good as home grown!)

I'm not particularly green fingered either, but I have a tiny bit of soil at the front of my house, and with a bit of internet research about what might grow in that space, in full sun, I have just got stuck in there! I only started it really late as well, so haven't really cropped anything yet - and the snails are taking full advantage of my lettuce. But I love seeing things growing and it's so lovely to go out and pick fresh herbs whenever I want them.

Do it Stacey! You could whack in loads of herbs and suggest to the others that they can pick some if they want some from time to time :)
